I like both of your songs, also, Raff.  And the second and third of Micky's (although I remember carrying Ratt on the buses a lot, never did go to a show).  The others I don't know yet, except The Plasmatics, which is more name and reputation recognition, than song familiarity (oh, and The Wiggles  Smile  )

Love this song, and it sounds great as a slow instrumental dub reggae tune too.

Exclamation I finally decided that this is my nomination.

OK, just to reserve my spot I'm posting this cheesiest of cheesy but charming song. The humour may just about save it, but surely it can't make the arrangement go away. Never mind, I love it.

Here's another Turkish song, this time not religious but ridiculous. I must admit that it is kind of shameful that I thought this was cool when I was a teenager. Ouch

Donna Lewis – I Love You Always Forever

I feel like this is the audio equivalent of the demolition man going home to a warm cup of herbal tea and watching a romcom. My backstory is that in ‘96 when this song came out, I was working in a small office (enclosed space) with a few other people. We all liked having music on as we worked but our tastes were varied. Sometimes we all had our headphones on but other times, the radio. Well, somehow, we got into a routine that whenever this song came on, it became the office ‘jam’. We would break to sing along, move around, what have you. Good times. Along the way it earwormed into me, and I ended up liking it. So much so, that when I later married and then divorced, I somehow ended up with my ex-wife’s copy of the CD. I still listen to that song.

My extra guilty pleasure is novelty music, specifically covers of rock songs done in unusual ways such as my extra Metalachi song from last week. I had planned on Dread Zeppelin as my extra for this week, but that changed last week when someone decided to post the exact song I was thinking of. Most people like a novelty as a one-time deal with some wry amusement, but I can listen to on end. This one I have been playing on and off for a good part of the past year. It’s a lot of fun.

Bullhorns – Thunderstruck

And I’ll admit, through my Amazon music account, I now have a playlist of over 60 different cover versions of AC/DC’s Thunderstruck that I can listen to on shuffle play all day long. Yeah, I’m weird.

first song.. lasted all of 11 seconds...

the 2nd..  hell yeah..

so if you want guilty pleasures in the .. ehhhh guilty cause it is.. well.. ehhh.. vein. .. go with 1..

in the far out and wacky veing.. go with #2

but you should really go with #1... rattlesnake.. bus crashes explosions..bands so bad they are good ... what is there not to like..  you can watch on mute and it is good.  That gets a vote..  maybe all 3 LOL

The Monkees ~ "Shades of Gray"
Michael Nesmith & the First National Band ~ "Joanne"
The Stone Poneys ~ "Different Drum"

obviously I love the Sone Poneys song.. but the other two.?

I never was a Monkeys/Nesmith fan.. other than a few uptempish rocking songs which I really did like.. and knew neither of these Clap

Shades of Grey? I do like the Piano melody and nice harmonies.. not really my style.. but definitely pretty good song.

Joanne - oh hell yeah...  now that is Micky style..  go with that one

Now here's another kind of thing... as mentioned before.
Music-wise this is seriously good (thinks me), but the lyrics unsettle me.
It's a kill the sexy lady in my bed fantasy, and as it's a fantasy I shouldn't worry much about this, but I do. This band uses the fascination of fantasies of violence a lot and manages to make them attractive. Not sure what mood this gets some of their easier to be disturbed or influenced fans into. They are in my view not quite as problematic in this respect as the outside Germany much better known Rammstein (who have a strongly overlapping fanbase), and musically I like them much more, but still... I'm all for ignoring lyrics but these are disturbing and oddly fascinating at the same time. And yes I know these kinds of fantasies are super-erotic for some... men and women alike, but that's not my cup of tea. And yet I love this song. Please judge about my guilt.

(I'm also now guilty for disturbing the light-hearted fun atmosphere of this poll with something that could demand proper thinking, which makes it a doubly good fit! Big smile)

When I woke up this morning, I had no idea I would be watching this.... LOL

Then don't go to sleep before watching this. Party

that's not Manowar but Nanowar, italian band that is a parody of Manowar and European power metal (Rhapsody, Blind Guardian for example).

Fabio Lione singing on that song shows he at least has a sense of humor. That song clearly is a parody of Rhapsody. (or better said Crapsody, like i call them).

As for Manowar, I've grown to dislike them.
