I think the OP can place the additional votes if necessary?

Rokia Traore - Tuit Tuit (the one I managed to vote for)
The Bothy Band - Fionnghuala
Serge Gainsbourg - Cargo Culte

This one was soooooooooo hard.

1.  Varrtina   Just loved the exuberance the and dissonance.

OK the others are difficult.

2.  Rokia Traore  I liked the spareness of this one.  Really grew on me as I listened more.

3.  Eartha Kitt  Just for the fun of it all.  She carried both sweet and sexy so perfectly in her vocals and in such a tres 50's way.

Honourable mention to Serge Gainsbourg and Dimash K.  Serge because of the starkness and that gorgeous chorus of angels.  Dimash for such a freaking large vocal range.

And same on being able to vote for only one.

Oh sorry... I thought I do it smoothly but there are traps everywhere... let's see what I can do. Embarrassed

...OK, I have clicked to allow multiple votes now, I hope it works. Please tell me if it doesn't.

And of course as always, three is the magic number!

PS: I assume you can now add your missing votes yourself.

I think it's most likely they will come back to see what happens and can then do their votes on their own (as has already happened). I think it's more likely to create confusion and double votes if anybody else does it for somebody else.

yeah..  but I thrive on confusion, chaos, and shady double voting.. so if anyone needs me..  you know where to find me.

Let's make the next one with the rule "from your own country". What say you?

I say the person who runs it should decide, but that's not a bad theme either. (I have some German stuff on my use-in-these-polls list lined up, so fine by me, but I'm happy to go with a totally different or without a theme as well.)

On the other hand, I enjoyed most of the songs, so choosing is not easy.

My instant winner is Connie Dover - Ubi Caritas.

Second one is, well...
Värttinä - Seelinnikoi is very uplifting, so I choose this. Very tasty vocals.

Third, well... ummm... ahh... so hard. I think
Rokia Traore - Tuit Tuit is better musically, especially its instrumental passages in the second half is like prog rock, but I'll vote for Wagakki Band - Senbonzakura, as it is more fun and fits my mood. Another day I might have voted for Tuit Tuit.

As I said, it was really a hard one for me...

Glad you enjoyed Connie Dover.  She started off playing bluegrass then later fronted a Celtic band, then recorded some wonderful solo recordings with some American music as well. In addition to that Celtic music and a few things that are just otherworldly, like this.  Here's a link to her bio:  https://conniedover.net/biography

I actually feel that as well.  It's not to "win," but to turn people on to music they might not hear otherwise.

I worked with a producer on several musical projects who LOVED her, that's why I was thinking I may have heard this one a long time ago and also why I was familiar with her name.

correctamondo!!! Beer  I plan on a round of relistens this evening...  for me this round of songs followed the path of many of the others polls. The first listens are with half an ear ..looking for the one that grabs you hard and makes you say .. hell yeah!!  Every poll for me has had that one. This one was no different.  One immediately caught my ear.. and umm.. eyes..

but to seperate the rest.... which is the real fun..and reward..  I really need to listen closer.

I had thought you might know her.. a hunch I had.. and a complement on your range and knowledge of music as well. Beer

not that I am judge nor jury.. I am more the executioner type..

My two cents?

Many of us have been doing that already. I'd try to think up another...

I had offered to do the next one and that is up to Lorenzo but don't think it is a secret what I wanted to do..

the flip side of this. .and potentially a VERY interesting poll

instrumentals... and of the interesting part of that comes from having to choose from non  PA's types.. a real chance to get some interesting and ear catching suggestions.

Up to Lorenzo of course.. it is his BBQ.. and I am digging this cornbread man
