Serge Gainsbourg - “Cargo culte”

More spoken word rather than singing per se, but hopefully that’s okay.

This band was suggested for addition several times, and I still believe they have a place here. Anyway, here you are - from the great country of Finland:

Not only does this sound all Greek to me. It is actually Greek.

We're doing very well with 14 entries in less than 6 hours. I'll surely wait until the end of tomorrow and maybe even longer before we start voting. Maybe Pedro gets his act together for once!?

I recognise Héroes del Silencio - Entre Dos Tierras. If I am not mistaken, they were produced by Phil Manzanera (?)

P-Model - The Great Brain. King Crimson in Japanese? There's also an echo of "Astronomy Domine".

well so much for my dreams of wining the thread Angry

did a first round of listenings to what we have so far..

A nice change of pace. Musically for the most parts.. not the most inspiring.. my own choice included but wasn't that the point of the theme. It is the singing.. the voice..  even the musicality of the languages and that is how will approach my votes

suspect I am going to need multiple listens to find votes 2 and 3 LOL Much as last poll.. the winner had already been found and like last time knew it before I heard all of them.

If I had to choose a song that quite literally sounds Greek to me, then the obvious choice is Demis Roussos, and incredibly, this song "I Remember" is the only song he ever sung in his native Greek language! Smile

Pino Daniele sounds like greek, or arabic, for a man who lives in Milano like me.

Anyway, CHE TE NE FOTTE? It's something between

f**k's it got to do with you?

and

What do you care?

Actually, I looked up the meaning to the title a few years back, because I kind of suspected that, but the rest of it is still a mystery to me for the most part.  Unfortunately, he passed away in 2015 from a heart attack, but he put out quite a large discography in his time.

The name reads actually "Trichromi" (Tricolore for Italians).
