That could have been me during my month-long sojourn on the tropical island of Hiatus, although I'm glad it was him that the coconut dropped on from a great height and not me. Smile

^^

I like Paul's style, but it could do with a little pimpin' for Pimpadelic Paul.

Those platforms make Paul look more like a get your freak on Funkadelic dude than a psychedelic freak. The overall effect is very jazz.

I love the gold boots! It's funny because I'm really into the funky music of Bootsy Colllins and the Psychedelic Soul of Funkadelic. Smile

One of my friends told me recently I looked like Super Fly from the Blaxploitation movie of the same name, and I can see the resemblance. I have the exact same outfit, although I don't have the gun. Smile

^^ Me too. I like P-Funk for the marriage of psychedelic and funk (i.e funkedelic). Parliament's Osmium is a fine album, by the way, that doesn't often get mentioned.

Maggot Brain is my favourite album from George Clinton's Parliament-Funkadelic collective. It's a case of "Nice music, Shame about the album title." Smile

Allegedly everyone in the studio, including the engineer, was on acid for much of the time it was being recorded. It certainly feels as if this may have been true.
Soldato of the Pan Head Mafia. We'll make you an offer you can't listen to.

Funkadelic certainly looked like they were on  some kind of psychedelic acid trip in this groovy Live video, and check out THAT HAT!! Smile

Those wild and crazy guys from Parliament-Funkadelic  make my white outfit look positively sober and low-key in comparison. Smile

Hey! It's Huggy Bear (Antonio Fargas) from Starsky & Hutch. I noticed he was walking down those steps VERY carefully in those boots. Smile

I think I'd find it easier to do a Michael Jackson Moonwalk than to try and walk in those ballet shoes. I don't think they're my size anyway. Smile

These are even more extreme: Ballet boots without heels. You have to walk on your toes alone.

We actually have a pair of these each; we had been curious about them. Trust me, it's absolute hell on the toes and calves to walk in them. But we sometimes wear them to impress.

^^ Sorry to steal your thunder by posting the video "Welcome Back, Kotter", but "Welcome to the Jungle" is a good second choice and you can't beat an artillery barrage of Heavy Metal thunder & lightening from Guns 'n' Roses on a Sunday afternoon. It reminds me of a book I once read about war correspondents in Afghanistan titled "Guns and Poses". Smile I've just been making some final edits to the last paragraph in my latest album review for Curved Air's "Phantasmagoria" (1972) - my longest review so far at 1590 words long. I need to take a long break now after that writing marathon, although not as long a break as last time. Wink

And do you like Wynn's "Younger"?
Amos Goldberg (professor of Genocide Studies at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem): Yes, it's genocide. It's so difficult and painful to admit it, but we can no longer avoid this conclusion.

I saw the P-Funk Earth Tour in '76/77 (don't remember) at the LA Forum. I do remember not staying for the whole show as I was only 12/13 old and was with other friends, one of my friends brother was the driver so we had to leave.
I remember when the tour was announced in the LA paper, it was a full page ad in the Calendar section.
