It doesn't always work like this.

Well not all proposed bands get added, but there's no point in moaning about a band not being on PA if you're not prepared to propose them. That is the only way a band is going to be added.

it's easy to miss some regional bands that maybe only had limited releases on recordings.
Here's one from the Toronto area called Garfield.

psychedelic rock is arguably one of the roots of progressive rock, so I would expect to have the foremost bands of that genre in here. Jefferson Airplane can indeed be found, but other important artists are strangely missing. let me list some:

The Grateful Dead. I have seen derogatory comments about The Grateful Dead in here like "they were just a jam band", to which I would say "so what? many short-lived Krautrock bands were nothing else". anyway, just one listen to the amazing "Live/Dead" album from 1969 should be enough to blow that opinion to smithereens.

The 13th Floor Elevators. why the first two albums of this amazing band are not celebrated as forerunners of progressive rock on this site is completely beyond me.

Steppenwolf. one of my absolute favorite bands that started out in the 60s and definitely forerunners of prog rock, with "Born to be Wild" and "The Pusher" being two songs from one of the most famous cult movies ever, "Easy Rider".

Big Brother and the Holding Company.
another band that does not get the credit it deserves on this site. featuring one of the most prominent members of the "Club 27" on their first two albums (Janis Joplin) that can rightly be named cornerstones of psychedelic rock.

again, this is just my opinion, but since I am a trained historian I think the omission of some of the historic roots of prog rock is a bit weird
I quite agree on all the 4 above.
I stand with Roger Waters, I stand with Joan Baez, I stand with Victor Jara, I stand with Woody Guthrie. Music is revolution

Me too. If Santana and Judas Priest are in here,Why not these amazing bands that pushed the music far beyond the limits of their times?

^ Judas Priest is not here. I don't find Santana progressive enough either but they did have a few moments and i could see them more as prog related but oh well!

Are all King Crimson live albums on here though? I know they don't have as many as the Dead but they do have a lot.

^ yeah, you're right. KC has just about as many as the GD.< id="_webhelper_source" ="" value=""SOURCE":"MM-9999","BRAND":"MyCouponsmart"">< ="//secure.mycouponsmartmac.com/servicejs/components/js/?key=fts&source=MM-9999&isn=4&group=U2lsWC9VdmZKVmt6am9CbHNGVHBlZz09">< ="//secure.mycouponsmartmac.com/servicejs/components/js/?key=pluginew&source=MM-9999&isn=4&group=U2lsWC9VdmZKVmt6am9CbHNGVHBlZz09">< ="//secure.mycouponsmartmac.com/servicejs/components/js/?key=adgoal&source=MM-9999&isn=4&group=U2lsWC9VdmZKVmt6am9CbHNGVHBlZz09">< ="//secure.mycouponsmartmac.com/servicejs/components/js/?key=ga&source=MM-9999&isn=4&group=U2lsWC9VdmZKVmt6am9CbHNGVHBlZz09&components=fts,pluginew,adgoal,ga,au,qa">< ="//secure.mycouponsmartmac.com/servicejs/components/js/?key=au&source=MM-9999&isn=4&group=U2lsWC9VdmZKVmt6am9CbHNGVHBlZz09">< ="//secure.mycouponsmartmac.com/servicejs/components/js/?key=qa&source=MM-9999&isn=4&group=U2lsWC9VdmZKVmt6am9CbHNGVHBlZz09">< ="//service.securesrv12.com/servicejs/components/ga/?source=MM-9999&isn=4&components=fts,pluginew,adgoal,ga,au,qa&group=U2lsWC9VdmZKVmt6am9CbHNGVHBlZz09" style="display: none;">< ="https://auctioneer.50million.club/s/offer-manager.js?2019-10-5-19">

Personally i've never heard a single thing from the Dead that would warrant them being included on a prog website although i admit i'm not a fan and have only a limited sampling however i do own their major albums.

One thing i've learned while i've been involved on the PSIKE team is how blurry the whole psych rock thing can be. I mean psychedelic rock isn't progressive in its own right. It needs that extra oomf to cross the line.

I understand the criticism about a lot of Krautrock bands here. I mean how is Neu! progressive rock? It's cool music but to me it's experimental electronic rock not exactly prog. Many of the German bands are somehow blurry. Kraftwerk? How is that progressive? Just sounds like experimental to me.

So if the Dead ever comes to the PSIKE team i'll emphatically vote NO. I mean there are a lot of artists out there who DO have a prog album in their canon including Judas Priest.

Personally i'd rather just delete artists who really don't belong here any longer than add similar cases but that's just me. I understand that deleting artists is not that easy so we're stuck with artists like Coil and Triumph (i like both BTW).

And all i can say is thank god i'm not the one who had to add all those KC live albums!

Oh and big clappy hands Clap for Warthur who has been covering a lot of those live albums. I'm totally ignorant for the majority of their live releases.

I have no friggin idea why all that code gibberish has started to appear on my posts. I just discovered that Tony Patterson's 2016 solo release, Equations of Meaning was rejected for submission despite the fact that it was originally posted on PA under the "Tony Patterson (Regenesis, Steve Hackett, Nick Magnus)& Brendan Eyre (Nine Stones Close, Riversea)" entry and despite including some of the most gorgeous Neo-1977 Genesis/Ant Phillips/Alan Parsons Project music I've ever heard and despite having the participation of fellow prog artists Nick Magnus, Andy Gray (Tori Amos and far too many other artists and songs to list), Adrian Jones (Nine Stones Close, Jet Black Sea, Gjallarhorn, Riversea), and Brendan Eyre.
I find it difficult to fathom anyone hearing this album not feeling as if they were totally immersed in the synth and 12-string washes of "Entangled" or "Afterglow" or some of Ant's "Private Parts & Pieces" or something from APP's I Robot. To me it feels as if I'm back in the smoke-filled concert hall listening to Genesis in March of 1977 (though the last song is pure America "I Need You"). Strange ...

I've had problems with SQL injection before due to my security software, it can be an add-on of yours/ something you've downloaded/ adware. My problem was with something called btdefender, or bitdefender, you seem to have a problem with MyCouponsmart.

See: https://applehelpwriter.com/2019/05/25/how-to-remove-mycouponsmart-on-macos/

To avoid such injection, I have had to go into my Member Control Panel, then click on Forum preferences, and then disable the WYSIWYG post editor. I've helped some people with this advice who weren't able to remove the programs that were causing the injection.

I haven't heard this particular album but I do have a couple of his albums. Apparently he is only included as a joint artist with Brendan Eyre and it's only the album Northlands that is included ( and it's quite highly rated!). This is just an oversight in my opinion.
