Question - Which Album you like better?
There's no poll because I don't have enough points to make a correct poll Edited by zawesomekid - September 07 2019 at 16:35 |

One needs 40 points to create polls in the usual way here (with poll options that one can vote for).
I don't have a problem with doing polls this way, and in some ways I prefer it (I'm not that keen on secret votes when it comes to such things). Another vote for Larks' Tongues in Aspic. |

Also, how can I run a poll correctly? Since I am new here.

Larks' Tongues In Aspic is for me the greatest King Crimson album. Even over the debut ye thouest muste pute at front of ye Prog classiums.
Red has some of the best Rock ever put to vinyl. But it hasn't got the planetfall, Rover launch and fresh new worlds promised in Larks'Tongues In Aspic. |

I personally vote for "Larks' Tongues in Aspic" because each song is more complete, in "Red" one song doesn't fell complete "One More Red Nightmare" because the climax feels close but it just stops which is very disappointing in my opinion, other than that, excellent song. I would say that "Red" is more cohesive as an album though since the tension is shown in 4 ways building up to "Starless" which is the best King Crimson song unlike "Larks' Tongues in Aspic"; moreover, it's not as cohesive as "Red" but also is cohesive somewhat in its own way unlike "Red", so it is extremely hard to chose a winner, so I'd accept any opinion on which is better.

Keep posting until you reach 40 points, then you should see the option to create polls and vote for poll options. It was set up this way because we had abuse. |

I don't understand the appeal of Larks' Tongues in Aspic. Although it does have its moments, overall I find the album to be quite uninteresting. By contrast, I quite like Red, so it gets my vote without hesitation.

No, I know how to behave in the restaurant now, I don't tear at the meat with my hands. If I've become a man of the world somehow, that's not necessarily to say I'm a worldly man.

A rather close call. Both albums have some ups and downs. One more Red vote anyway.

I'd vote LTIA. I also prefer Starless & Bible Black to Red, but they are all excellent.

Definitely red, Larks is a bit too jammy for me at times, both great albums

I find larks more to my liking but both are great albums and there is no wrong answer. That said one my biggest problems with red is the repetitiousness of the title track. That main riff just goes on and on and even after the cello part it comes back and just does the same thing over and over again. It would have been a great three or four minute track at the most but at over six minutes it's a bit much with too little variation(I have the same issue with cry baby cry by the Beatles). Also, the improv piece Providence isn't bad but it's still an improv piece which means it just sort of meanders with no real direction. I prefer the one on S&BB. Finally, I don't like how "starless" winds up. It's an intense tune with some great playing but towards the end it gets too chaotic(and even jammy) and just kind of loses me. So for me LTIA is more consistent with no real flaws. It is a crazy album though which is what I like about it. I do think both albums(and also S&BB)are real classics though and probably KC's best period just slightly above the disjointed lineup on the first two albums.
