After that, I was excited to anticipate the release of Heaven & Earth.  However, that one left me completely flat. I can't really articulate why because the two albums, at least on the surface, really seem quite similar.  But for some reason, one reaches me an the other doesn't.

Interestingly, I had the exact same experience with Asia in the same time frame. I absolutely love XXX, and actually think it is far and away their best album.  But then I have about zero interest in Gravitas; it does nothing for me.

Fly From Here is actually quite a tightly produced album , good original material and well realised. I feel very ambivalent about it though and generally can't excited. Heaven and Earth is a bit 'wet' perhaps and was trying harder to recall 'classic Yes'. Of course that's totally impossible but it does have a wee bit more of that feeling about so I'm more prepared to give it a chance I guess. I also like Jon Davison because of his excellent work with Glass Hammer.

I gave a good review to XXX and still think its decent. Of the Asia comeback albums though Phoenix is still my favourite.

Steve Howe Asia albums:
1. Asia
2. Phoenix
3. XXX
4. Alpha
5. Omega

IMO

Seventh Sojourn is my favorite Moody Blues album, even above Days of Future Passed and To Our Children's Children's Children.

Queen II is my favorite Queen album, though this has become a relatively popular take lately, it's still not as well known as their later output for the average people.

Islands and ITWOP by Crimson are one of my favorites from them that aren't that highly considered by many.

I shook my head and smiled a whisper knowing all about the place

I prefer "Viljans Öga" over "Hybris" (Änglagård).
No, I know how to behave in the restaurant now, I don't tear at the meat with my hands. If I've become a man of the world somehow, that's not necessarily to say I'm a worldly man.

As of the last few days, Merci, by Magma. I can't seem to stop listening to it. And ok, the same happened with MDK but I think this one speaks to me even more deeply.

Nothin' wrong with that.  Beautiful album, nicely balanced and with some very special songs.

Thanks for the post.  I think I'll make another run at Phoenix.
