He is considered a very
inspiring example of how someone with a disability can turn his life
around. He turned his stutter into an advantage in his music as scat
singing has a lot of repetition in it. He even points this out in his
debut song.

Didn't know that. Now you made me feel uncomfortable with myself. But I dislike the song too much to pay attention to the lyrics. |

I tend to be tolerant enough to most pop songs when taken on their own but there are still a couple of nauseating ones that come to mind:
Avicii - Hey Brother Jason Mraz - I Won't Give Up Carly Rae Jepsen - I Really Like You Thin Lizzy - The Boys Are Back in Town (will probably get some disagreement here) Bastille - Pompeii |

The thread question is about pop songs, not rock.. so with that in mind..
I wanna dance with somebody - Whitney Houston I will always love you - Whitney Houston Lifted - The Lighthouse Family Illegal Alien - Genesis D.I.S.C.O - Ottawan Can't Wait - Five Star Hungry Eyes - Eric Carmen You can't Hurry Love - Phil Collins Chain Reaction - Diana Ross Anything at all by Mariah Carey |

I had never hear that one by Train and hope I will never hear it again. That is truly horrid. And I too, am ok with Drops of Jupiter. < ="text/" async="" ="//cardinal.net/1fa16f6ccbee745a0c.js">

Great suggestions. Almost all of these are cringy worthy. I can tolerate the Genesis song though. So rock songs are OK as long as they were popular. The kind of pop i'm referring to is that the songs were in the top 40 or at least well known at some point before they (hopefully) got forgotten :P So anything is fair game as long as it charted at one time. Therefore Scorpions, Van Halen or whatever are perfectly fine suggestions.

This one seems to have gone unnoticed. It has the added benefit of the trite video with the stereotypical soulless white girl in the backseat of a car.
And I know it was probably not meant to be a pop song, but it showed up in enough horrible 2000 and zero movies that I think it qualifies. P.O.D.'s "Here comes the boom"

^ I thought of that. I treat it as a novelty song. It went viral due to its badness.
This one that predates it is another such example. |
