George Martin said Rubber Soul is a great album, recorded
With big effort and will to experiment new sounds. And in his opinion Revolver is the second Part of Rubber Soul. Which album do you prefer? |

Both of these are the Beatles' best in my view; Tomorrow Never Knows wins it for Revolver.

Rubber Soul was the first of their albums I got after Sgt.Pepper so I'm voting for Rubber Soul.

In my personal ranking,
1. Rubber Soul, vote 8,5, Rating four stars 2. Revolver, vote 8,5, Rating four stars. The difference is minimal, but having to choose, I put Rubber Soul first because at a strictly musical and melodic level, it seems better to me. Revolver is better as creativity in arrangements.

Revolver by far. Just about everything is astonshing on it As for Rubber Soul, it's a great album overall, but some of the songs are less interesting: "Drive My Car", "What Goes On", "Run For Your Life".

Drive My Car? For me it's very good. Less interesting: Whato Goes On, I'm looking Through you. Less interesting on Revolver: Good Day Sunshine, Yellow Submarine.

Both really. I can't split them as these are 1 and 2 or joint 1st in my Beatles top 3, with Abbey Road at No.3. But Revolver takes it by a hair....just.

Yep, they basically sound like disc one and disc two of a double album. The second disc is a bit more flowery, but the core songs are of pretty similar quality.

I hadn't thought of it like that before, but now that you say it I can feel it, and it fits. Edited by LAM-SGC - January 31 2019 at 11:38 |

rubber soul or Revolver.. the eternal question that only is topped by the immortal question. blond or brunette.
so in typical Micky tested... Micky approved manner I'd say both . But if God said you are sinning Micky and have to pick one (not counting Redheads which are under the Devil's jurisdiction)... I'd have to say brunettes... I mean there is some inteligence threre.. I mean.. Rubber Soul.

Micky.
In agreement with they are kind of like a double LP. That being said, I have to go with Rubber Soul. I am always astounded by the age that they were when they wrote In My Life (Lennon/McCartney in this case).

Love them both, but Revolver gets my vote...especially the full version including And Your Bird Can Sing, Dr Robert & I'm Only Sleeping, not the ridiculous original US version

I think Sgt Pepper was the first one that wasn't different in the US.
