heya david, how are ya doin I haven't been spending much time here mainly because I've been lagging in my proggy listening (which might be clear from my previous post). I'll try to get it together this year and hit the prog records a little harder I suppose

I’m doing ok all things considered. Been trying to recoperate after some horrendous slipped disks in my back - music has (almost) kept me sane. Don’t worry about the lacking prog quotient though. Take a look at the listening thread where brilliant prog connoisseurs seem to have caught the 80s thrash bug. There are similarly equally many into modern stuff that many a times lies on the cusp of prog. If you need some new albums to check out that both are listed here on PA yet doesn’t sound like Genesis teaming up with a 90s heavy metal producer, well then just speak up. Lots of great music being produced right now. Edited by Guldbamsen - January 24 2019 at 06:30 |

Alrighty then let me see if I can recall your tastes and somehow mix in your recent taste;)
Guerilla Toss - Twisted Crystal Rivendel - Sisyfos Oranssi Pazuzu - Värähtelijä Thy Catafalque - Geometria Also I seem to remember you digging the Canterbury scene. If so then check out Needlepoint, The Winstons and Suburban Savages Let me know how I did. You can always ask for more of a psych/noise/metally/post-punky/idm/folky/old school/electronic/jazzy/italiano/comtemporary vibe. |

Actually a variation of this response. Maybe it's because I'm too lazy to go back over my record collection, but I have a pile of albums I've bought over the last couple of months and they are the ones I've been playing regularly. They include Marillion, King Crimson, Big Big Train, Dave Gilmour, Opeth and Steve Hackett.

Cool Been a while since I listened to that Oranssi Pazuzu one myself, and it’s quite the monster. Love the primal rhythmic drive of it - in places it even reminds me of Krautrock. |
