Mick Karn

I agree totally !! I listened to Dali’s Car the other day and it blew me away. His work in Japan and as a solo artist is worthy. Definitely a one-of-a-kind. He should still be with us.

^ For many of us, it may not be so much that's not considered Prog as he's never been properly formally considered. Normally that process is started in Suggest New Bands and Artists and if that topic is well prepared then the suggested teams take on the evaluation. What Prog category do people think he best fits? He has quite a few albums to consider for placement.

That's true, or being a Collaborator, Thomas can take it to one of the team threads directly for an evaluation as I'm sure he must know (and perhaps has done so). That said, I think a well prepared Suggestion thread is best, then bring that link to a team's attention. I haven't heard his music, which category best fits him do you think? As I look through his discography I see that he has quite a few albums so perhaps not an easy case....

So I am treating this as more of an appareciation thread and to get people interested rather than as a formal suggestion thread. I might have moved this to Suggest New Bands but then it's better to start such a topic operating under the guidelines of how to create topics there. See CLICK for any who are new to this site and may be seeing this topic who are interested in suggesting bands.   

Karn has been suggested at least twice before:

I have not noticed any Suggestion threads that reference 'The Concrete Twin' (I see it as being a 2009 album at rateyourmusic, but don't know if it first came out before or after the 2009 Mick Karn Suggestion thread.

Fantastic musician. His last album is certainly one of his best with his collaboration with Yoshihiro Hanno that I love very much too.
