Have listened some Deviants recently. It was really great and quite underrated band, great mix of early Stooges & psychedelia!

LOLWink you could almost hear my brain grinding to remember which Genesis lyric that is.. that's how knackered I am! I think its a little bit more 'Me, i'm just a lawnmower, you can tell me by the way I walk' plus a little bit of 'Farmer, knows not when to sow.. consults the old man clutching money in his hand..

Oh well, i'm pumping out a sceptic tank at 6.30 tomorrow morning..WinkLOL

I have a special place in my heart for Fourth. It was the first Soft Machine album I heard & bought, and its weird jazz vibe is still really potent. Last weekend I was invited to compose a short setlist for a portion of a radio show, using a prescribed list of genres as a guide. I chose “Teeth” to represent jazz. The DJ hadn’t heard it hefore but seemed to really like it.

Today. I’m kind of new to Van Morrison but he really comforted my melancholy soul today.

King Lizard and the Wizard Gizzard | 12 Bar Bruise
Style Council | Our Favourite Shop
Ghost | In Stormy Nights
Steely Dan | Two Against Nature
Van Morrison | Astral Weeks
Van Morrison | Inarticulate Speech of the Heart
Traffic | When the Eagle Flies
Sloan | Smeared
Sloan | 12

Let me just add that Sloan is one of the best power pop bands of all time that I’ve heard. I’ve made several efforts to get into Cheap Trick but this band is superior in every way except historical placement (ie shift their catalog back in time a few years and they’d be household names today). They have accomplished so much and have such great consistency and breadth I’m just awestruck.

I prefer first, volume two and third to their later, more fusion stuff. But anyway I am going to listen their later albums too, got Soft Machine album collection from Third to Seven from the library.

What do you like the Raincoats? Also, if not listened the Deviants yet what I talked about in my earlier post, I believe it would be your stuff.

About radioshows I start own show in small local finnish radio this sunday, going to make one show also from prog.

i do like the Deviants. Mick Farren’s solo album is quite good too.

I have the first Raincoats album but I’ve had a hard time getting into it so far.

Maybe you should try their "Odyshape"-album, it´s their best, much more acoustic than the first one. I love also that first one.

the Deviants: s/t
Magma: Theusz Hamtaahk Trilogie
Maritta Kuula: 9 Henkeä
