So far nothing....not one album.....and it's 3 in the afternoon....had breakfast ,watched some tv,....did yard work and now posting here.
It amazes me sometimes that people here have so much free time on their hands that thev are able to listen to all of these albums..work,,,spend time with family and post.
I'm wondering how many are single ..unemployed..or still living at home..?

;)

Well, single, living at home in my own big boy house (aka Prog Pleasure Dungeon), but simply allowed to listen to music all shift at work and one the drive in and out! Mind you, not much of a life though, I'm a reclusive weirdo because my obsessions are rabid music collecting, Punisher comics and cheesy Hallmark Christmas movie DVD's Uh-huh, party never stops at my pad...

Speaking of, tonight's selections:

The Beatles – Revolver
The Chocolate Watch Band – The Inner Mystique

The Beach Boys – Holland – Ha, they almost go `prog’ on parts of this one...I always want to like it more, but some of it is rather dull.

Quicksilver Messenger Service – Happy Trails
Weather Report – Sweetnighter
Iron Maiden – Seventh Son of the Seventh Son
The Orb – Adventures Beyond the Ultraworld (disc 1)
Steve Roach – Empetus

Yeah, pretty certain we used to talk about it...It's OK. Every night of this nightshift I've been making my way through all of their post-`Pet Sounds' albums in my collection...I think I actually prefer the `Carl and the Passions/`So Tough' one before it over `Holland' now.

Do you have `The Beach Boys Love You'?! Now THAT is a baffling album....half way between cheerfully silly and super-crappy! Sadly with my `one a night' rate I won't get to that slick 80's one I'm sure I recall you saying you liked?!

Don't worry, Wu, two more nights and then I hit my run of six days off work, and then my listens drop to a slow trickle of maybe one or two spins a day!

I'm pretty lucky that I'm actually able to listen to music at my desk throughout my shift, though. Don't know how I'd be able to keep slogging through all my stuff...and there's almost always more stuff on the way. Actually, funny you asked about the unemployed thing...the delivery people AND the mailman (who freaking knows my name now!) seem to be at my door every second day (I work shiftwork, and a lot of the time I work afternoons/evenings, so home in the morning when they usually do the rounds), they must assume I'm some lazy unemployed bum getting welfare checks and blowing it on packages and deliveries! So every now and then, when I get stuck talking to them, I try to work into conversation about work, or `about to head off to work' etc...it's pitiful! They probably think `Sure you do, you lazy bum....'

I still don’t mind some of the songs on that ‘85 album. It’s very summer-y and light. I still have the vinyl !!

I’m sure that’s Man With Hat !!! I have often commented on his amazing multitasking skills.
Some days I may have a good run of 5-8 albums, but after a while, my ears tend to get tired and I just st chill out playing Candy Crush or some game on my iPod !!

^ I'm just getting old......I used to play albums and cd;s almost every night and daytime/afternoons also on the weekends but lately I just work, watch tv, sleep and either do something with the wife or kids/grandkids .
There;s always some kind of family thing to do....not enough hours in the day and of course I go to bed far earlier than I used to.......it's hell to get old.

I play lots of my daily albums either at my desk (iPhone > Bluetooth) or in my car (CDs) during the 90+ minutes my daily round trip commute takes me. On weekends I often play LPs when I have time.

Not much time today since my band Rare Goat played a gig in the afternoon, then we had friends over after for grilling after the gig. But I have listened to:

Secret Oyster | Straight to the Krankenhaus (for good luck; listening to this usually improves my guitar playing (I’m a very erratic soloist))
XTC | Go 2
Mothers | 200 Motels (maybe my most played FZ album, if not my favorite)

^ The Zappa album you speak of is my least favourite !! It’s not bad at all, but it’s the toughest for me to fully get into.

Yeah, definitely haven't heard the new album yet, mate. I used to have this t-shirt (probably still got it somewhere, although it wouldn't fit anymore!), my ex-partner HATED me wearing it, she used to get very jealous and angry, so silly!

(sorry, not the best pic, but you get the idea of the sexiness of it!)

As for the gig, frontwoman Cristina Martinez stumbled on stage, looked mighty pissed off and more than a little wasted. She was singing into a microphone that clearly wasn't working, and when a poor roadie raced on stage to try and fix it, she booted him square in the balls from behind. She then took an instant dislike to a poor girl that had clearly been dragged along by her boyfriend, she got down on all fours like she was stalking the girl, singing directly into her eyes for about three minutes straight with this mocking scorn! She then got up and hurled herself into the crowd, starting wildly swinging punches and kicks at everyone (my mate copped a nasty bloody gash from her heels down his leg!), she then got back on stage and called a girlfriend out, and they finished the set in what can only be described as bad drunk karaoke! Despite being the lead act, all up I think they played a little over 45 minutes before heading off?! Oh, and now that I think about it, pretty sure my mate copped a knee to the balls as well! Good times!
Oh what a shirt!Sounded like Christina was really wild in that gig, more reasons why drummer Hollis is my favourite (always thought never be a fanboy of Christina ´cos not sure what Jon is thinking about it Wink). Anyway those Jon Spencer Blues Explosion gigs were absolutely great ones, specially the last one in a small club, I think they´re played there over 2 hours!

About my listening habit I was unemployed in winter so got much time to listen music. Got wife and 2 kids, but they´re teenagers (not my wife), so didn´t need me as much as before. I listen also much same time when doing some homework. But at the moment in a full job, so naturally time listen music has lessen.

Believe me, man...would love to say I had those things to distract me from listening to so much music. Sadly I've wasted a lot of years on the wrong people, when I could have gone in different directions and might possibly have found a good and nice partner, got married, had kids....I just turned 42 a week or two ago, and I don't see it happening by this point. So as much as I obsess over music and it takes up so much of my day, it's all often a nice distraction from how unhappy about other things going on in my life, and it actually has kind of become my `fortress of solitude', because listening to music at home is quite a lonely and isolating experience for me. So...you're very lucky to have some amazing things that keep from drowning in music all day long!

Well, I look back on that gig and it's a hugely memorable highlight for all the wrong reasons...for my mate that got injured and kicked in the plums, probably not so much!

All good, man, sounds like you still have many blessings in your life, so you just need to make sure your lessened time for music is comprised of only the very best albums!
