Last two days:
Ash Ra Tempel - Ash Ra Tempel (Maaan, I was in the mood for this album!)
Herbie Hancock - Crossings
Categories strain, crack and sometimes break, under their burden - step out of the space provided.

^ Indeed they are! I only knew their later hits but I was surprised to hear that kind of instrumental Soft Fusion I really like. Great musicians, too bad they restrained themselves later.
Journey's debut was also a great surprise, really cool stuff!

A full day of revisiting early period studio, King Crimson while at the computer desk lesson planning for next week and going through my iTunes library.

Here's my order of preference, for what it's worth.

1) In the Court of the Crimson King
2) Red
3) Lark's Tongue in Aspic
4) Starless and Bible Black
5) Islands
6) In the Wake of Poseidon
7) Lizard

Starless and Bible Black and Islands impressed me most today, as I haven't played them for a while. Forgot how good Islands was, to these ears at least.

What would be your 'ultimate' top 10 modern RPI recommendations of the last 20 years, Byrd? I have some catching up to do (one of my last purchase was Il Bacio della Medusa's Discesa Agl'Inferi = Excellent!), here's some of my top classic RPI:

Orme/Uomo di Felona
Giganti/Terra in Bocca
Banco/Darwin
Metamorfosi/Inferno
Pierrot Lunaire
Alusa Fallax
Celeste
