Another forum thread and the new album has got me listening to the Strawbs - old and new at present. Managed to get through Halcyon Days and A Choice Selection of Strawbs today - for some highlights - but will be working through the back catalogue over the next week or so of the actual albums, starting with Strawbs and Dragonfly.....

Strawbs is a great band. I have started to listen it maybe five years ago. Same time as Fairport Convention and Family.

What's that latest Lunatic Soul one like, mate? I kind of snoozed on picking it up.
I will, thanks! One never knows enough German Prog :D

It was better than I expected. Maybe because it has more guests (and more present throughout the record) it feels less like a solo effort.

Rhapsody - Dawn of Victory

I think I've had that Geinoh album on my wishlist since I saw it posted a year or two ago on a submission for the overall Best Songs Poll (I assume it was your list). Alas, I haven't been able to get my hands on it, and even the Youtube video is blocked in my country (land of the free, my ass LOL). Nobody beats the Japanese at pure, unbridled experimentation, but until I can find a copy for less than thirty bucks, Geinoh (as well as Bondage Fruit and After Dinner) will have to wait.

Land of the free needs to step up it's jootoob game. Can I pop by your prezzi's house and make him an offer he can't refuse? (involves high quality orcas and ketamine)
Seriously though, Japan is madness incarnate...if you just know where to look.
Maybe you have better luck with Date Course Pentagon Royal Garden? Any Sun Ra fan worth his pepper needs to check out these cats:

If it doesn't work over on your side of the Atlantic then please contact my spokesman Conan Libido Soultrain for further instructions.

How did you go with that one, Sam? Vocals are a bit rough, but...meh, love it anyway! The debut is even better if I recall, but my favourite is their previously unreleased `Not Too Late', which was recorded in the Seventies but never released. It's a cracker of a jazzy-rock album
