![]() Since Friday: Yusef Lateef - The Three Faces Steve Hackett - Darktown Chicano Batman - Freedom Is Free (I thought it would be more instrumental but it's cool nevertheless) Mort Garson - Plantasia (Migraine killer) Gustavo Jobim - Meio-Dia (Bossa-flavoured Berlin School) Gazua - Transgressão Banda do Casaco - Coisas do Arco da Velha (I always have mixed feelings about this one: side A has some of their best songs but side B is really boring.) Quarteto 1111 - Onde, Quando, Como, Porquê Cantamos Pessoas Vivas (The production flaws were clearer than ever on my new system, but it only made it more special ![]() We Trust - These New Countries It was great to see "10000 Anos Depois" mentioned three times on the previous page

Is that an "oh my" in a good way or an "oh my" in a bad way? ![]() I haven't been listening to that one very much lately, but I think it may still land a place on my AOTY list (probably in the 10-20 range); pretty interesting psych-laden prog. I thought about Maggot Brain, but yes their other albums have more vocals. Yeah, good vibes, it reminded me of a Portuguese act, Expensive Soul, minus the occasional Rap. Yesterday: Casiopea - Thunder Live Welcome Inside the Brain - Celebrate the Depression Taeko Ohnuki - Grey Skies Cosmic Ground - III Lou Donaldson - The Natural Soul |

MMmmmmmhh Maggot Brain. Methinks a spin is in order. After all I've been doing a jazzy funky morning afternoon, so why not continue in the same vein.
Never heard of Expensive Soul before. The name sounds like a bad movie take on the Faust legend though ![]() Last night and today: Chicano Batman - Freedom Is Free Grovjobb - Under Solen Lyser Solen Sam Rivers - Streams Stevie Wonder - Innervisions Sven Libaek - Inner Space Björn J:Son Lindh - Från Storstad til Grodspad James Holden & The Animal Spirits - s/t I love how naive and incredibly melodic this track is...whilst still retaining a good boot full of old school electronic vibe: Now listening to Franco Battiato's classic art pop album L'Era Del Cinghiale Bianco

That was in a good way. I was listening to the first track as i wrote my post and was absolutely loving the almost Bubu-like Flamenco delivery of the vocals - works oh so well with the backing acoustic guitar. My interest did slowly wane about halfway in as I felt they leaned a little too much on the more polite side of the psych spectre. It is however very rare I come across full-on psychedelic bands that actually make well-constructed music with sections more akin to symphonic. I do wish they'd mix more of that fiery Spanish vibe off the first track....and maybe they did. I did zone out in the bus whilst listening...and then not listening. I may as well have been listening to ABBA for all I know. Mental unawareness if you know what I mean ![]() The bolded albums are full of win and much joy-joy. You have won a free balloon ride over the danish town of Silkeborg. Congrats.
