They're about equal for me. Both 8/10ers. No vote.

I see where this thing is going ; 2 quite Commercially successful albums that teeter on the brink of outright Pop music, along with the more clever, boundary-pushing ideals of Prog-rock, all meshed in an acceptable, compact package.
To me, ELO were far more eclectic in their approach than Supertramp. Though I prefer the 'tramp overall. |

Although I like ELO - A New World Record, Supertramp - Crime of the Century is one of my favourite albums, so that gets my vote by quite a large margin.

No, I know how to behave in the restaurant now, I don't tear at the meat with my hands. If I've become a man of the world somehow, that's not necessarily to say I'm a worldly man.

I think the first 4 ELO have a decent prog approach with accessible songs.....after that they became a pop vehicle for Lynn.
Supertramp always seemed like 'prog lite' to me though with some decent tracks here and there. That ELO album is pop all the way ,,,Do Ya is a decent rocker but taken from when Lynn was with The Move. I suppose Crime is the better album....track for track regarding a prog theme.. yet imho it's an overrated work.
