Yes - Talk
Monarch Trail - Sand (Normally when I see a new neo-prog getting rave reviews, it's usually a surefire indication that I won't like it, but this one is actually fantastic!) Esperanto - Last Tango Van Halen - Diver Down Van Halen - Van Halen II Laurent Thibault - Mais On Ne Peut Pas Rever Tout Le Temps Opus-5 - Volume 1: Contre-Courant Uriah Heep - Look At Yourself Grateful Dead - Blues For Allah

You should give it a listen; I'm sure you'd enjoy it. There are a couple of tracks that are discernibly weaker (sappier?) than the rest of the album, but the good tracks more than make up for it. The whole thing carries that romantic and dreamy air that made the Italian classics of the 70's so wonderful.
...aaaand sold! I'll have to check it out.

I should snap them up as well, although I could also get more Schulze in my collection. I only got Timewind... and the three Dark Side of the Moog boxsets I really liked it, although it seemed to start losing steam towards the end. Awesome bass work throughout the album though, as usual. From the trailer, the new one seems promising. Funny how Frank speaks in French with less accent than his English Just a couple of suckers but the rest sounds great, really not bad for a long-awaited comeback album.

Someone said to me `I thought you like ambient things?', and I'm like `Ambient music, not pure AMBIENCE!'
Heh, love `Sternzeit', man. So excited that Greg Walker/Syn-Phonic's new newsletter just came out, and he's got the second and third Von Deyen reissued CD's, cant wait to snap them up. I hope you liked `Ocean 2', Sam. I honesty wish that, unless their new album is great, that they finished on that one. It perfectly encompasses all eras of Eloy, made for the perfect wrap-up of the band. By the way, guys, what's the issue with the Maxophone - La Fabbrica delle Nuvole one? I bought it weeks ago but haven't listened to it yet. You have a problem with a few of the tracks, Sam? |

I'm in a bad place, fellas...I tried to fix the loose cable on the small speaker I keep on my desk to listen to music at work and instead ripped it out altogether ...and I don't have access to change settings and turn up the computer volume itself so I can stream something on Bandcamp, so I'm sitting here at work with NO music whatsoever...I never realised how loud the dogs barking in my head actually were until working in silence tonight.

German Tuesday: Ego On The Rocks - Acid in Wounderland (First listen. Thanks for mentioning it, Tom!) Neu! - Neu! '75 Samsara Blues Experiment - One With The Universe (The more I listen, the more I think it's their best.) Eloy - Ocean 2: The Answer Adelbert von Deyen - Sternzeit Electric Moon - Stardust Ritual (That Mellotron in the final minutes leaves quite an impression.) Ysma - Vagrant Love Machine - Circles (Kevin, I wonder what you'd think of this one, it has the occasional Southern Rock vibe ) |

This one is one of my favourites so far this year. I agree that the third track is a bit of a weak point, but I think that tracks 2 and 4 more than make up for it.

Italian Monday:
Finisterre - s/t Il Trono Dei Ricordi - s/t PFM - Stati di Immaginazione Maxophone - La Fabbrica delle Nuvole (It would be an excellent album without the third and sixth track.) Ingranaggi della Valle - In Hoc Signo (The ultra edited vinyl version. They even cut "Kairuv'an" in half, it fades out during an insane instrumental. I'm more and more disguted with it every time.) Calibro 35 - S.P.A.C.E.

I'm sorry for being a bit all over the place on the Archives lately, fellas, and that especially means this thread. Trying to navigate screwy sleep patterns, getting a few things in order around my house, trying not to fall head-over-heels in love with a spoken for woman but seemingly failing miserably to stop myself...PLENTY distracting me from the Archives!
My selections last two days: Cellar Noise - Alight Barock Project - Detachment (Zzzzzzzz.... ) Djam Karet – Sonic Celluloid Djam Karet – Regenerator 3017 Forrest Fang – Following the Ether Sun Steven Wilson – To the Bone Ryan Adams - Prisoner |

Despite not really liking it, I can give it some merit, considering it was released in 1968.
This weekend: Eric Clapton - Unplugged La Curva di Lesmo - s/t Brainticket - Cottonwoodhill (I get it now! Once you consider the band is playing a psychedelic mantra and pay attention to the series of random noises, it's actually quite a trip ) Colour Haze - In Her Garden

I agree with both of you, Sam and Michael. The (The) Nice album that I
find myself coming back to the most often, and, thinking back probably
due to its originality in the band's catalogue, is Five Bridges, which
was also one of the first vinyl records I ever bought. Don't know really
if its a sentimental thing or if that album is actually any
good, but I enjoy it a lot and is probably the only Nice record I would
not reluctantly listen to at this point in my life.
Today: Sun Araw - Heavy Deeds () Eric Dolphy - Out to Lunch! Dedalus - Dedalus |

Do you know, mate, I feel much the same way about The Nice? Playing catch-up after knowing ELP's stuff for so many years, The Nice sounds so....rudimentary in comparison perhaps? Tonight's choices for me: Djam Karet – Sonic Celluloid Sound of Contact – Dimensionaut Magenta – The Twenty-Seven Club Mostly Autumn – Sight of Day Riverside – Shrine of the New Generation Slaves (really a perfectly decent Riverside album, although the first half is much stronger than the last couple of tracks) Tangerine Dream - Tangram Steve Roach – Eclipse Mix |
