This weekend: Ashra - New Age of Earth Steve Roach - Suspension and Reflection Blåkulla - s/t (Lovely record, the cover really doesn't have anything to do with the music. I'm wondering if the drummer is related to Mattias Olsson.)

Nice list, by the way. How's that Deuter album? Djamra - Circle of Circus Anar Band - s/t (It's quite good, it reminds me a bit of Elektriktus and Leprino. Nice find Tymon ) Jethro Tull - Song From the Wood (First listen. It's probably the best I heard from them: a variety of keyboards, some cool instrumental parts, Anderson less annoying than usual (except for a couple of tracks), and songs with a Gentle Giant flavour.) Eloy - Dawn (I don't know why I ignored this album, it's awesome ) Klaus Schulze - Trancefer (Much better than the previous two albums.) Salada de Frutas - Crime Perfeito

The Lord Weird Slough Feg - Traveller - An amazing heavy rock/metal/ prog elements/opera record based on the 1970s role playing game of the same name. A Space Opera of the highest caliber. If you have not heard this and are a fan of sci-fi themed rock....you are missing out. An excellent concept album.

It made the list of both of you I see. Well deserved! Yeah, a bit more fusion than the debut, which is a good thing, but it's missing that stand-out track that Escenes had in "Historia d'una Gota d'Aigua", IMO.
I enjoyed this as well, but not as much as I thought I would. I like my Canterbury whimsical, and I thought it lacked a bit in that department. Prefer these guys in a live environment so far. Everything sounded better on the Live in Rome album to me, felt the songs got through stronger on that one. Also, I agree about the vocals, not problematic per se, but the instrumental sections made more of an impression on me the first few listens. Need to spin both albums more though, haven't really absorbed either properly yet.
Missed them when they came here last time, and I'm gonna miss them again when they play here on Friday as I'm going up to the family cabin this weekend. Will definitely catch them next time though! And yeah, Häxan is excellent! Just missed out on my top 5, but not by much.

^ Might save space just to write the albums you haven't listened to in the past month, Audun!
Yeah, great album that one. It really took me by surprise to find out that Gotic actually came back with a new album - just like with the new Bubu EP. But sure enough, both bands more than made up for lost time this year. I agree, it's a shame that the new album didn't have anything quite as stellar as that closing track on Escenes, but I think that Gegants is a lot more consistently strong across the board.
Right on! Those are my top two KC studio albums right there. And Ladies of The Road is one of their archival live releases that I've always had my eye on to purchase. The second CD of just 21st Century Schizoid Man seems like a bit much, though. As usual, lots of great selections in there. Always interested to see what you've been up to, listening-wise.

I guess I heard all the wrong albums then, I never heard the other two. I got two recommendations for SFTW a while ago and was only motivated to listen now because I'll likely see JT (whoever they are now) next May. I saw that Skøtt album got a nice place in your list. Honestly, I ignored it because it sounded very much like the previous two, and I barely spun these LP's Yesterday: Asgard - Tradition & Renouveau Promenade - Noi al Dir di Noi Carlos Paredes - Concerto em Frankfurt Carlos Paredes - Movimento Perpétuo

Yesterday was all about music (and batfeaces crazy children). So much so that I forgot to sleep. Got three hours methinks...and then more children!
Anyways: Klaus Johann Grobe - Spagat der Liebe (best album of 2016?) Aktuala - s/t (unique folk act from Italy unites dozens of endemic musics into one pot) Fläsket Brinner - Live Stockholm (Swedish old school jam - kinda like a proto version of Agusa) Magic Bus - s/t (today's Caravan) Syd Arthur - Apricity (honey) Transit Express - Opus Progressif (furious percussion lead fusion. The drummer is insane!) Andrew Hill - Compulsion (jazz that makes you go swoop) Brother Ape - Force Majeure (modern prog that doesn't sound like prog...too erm...melodic?) Circle - Pharaoh Overlord (best album of 2015) Eldberg - Par Er Heimur Hugans (Icelandic band goes old school organ berserk) Invisible - El Jardin De Los Presentes (Spinetta's vocals are so beautiful that a small deer dies everytime you spin this sucker) Hooffoot - s/t (jazz rock with a sensuous live feel to the proceedings) |

^ That's a full day of listening, David.
I picked up the Hooffoot album awhile back and I'm liking it. I'm wondering if they will put out another LP. Have you heard the first Transit Express album called Priglacit? I think you'll like it.
