I never heard of it, but I know of Telectu. I'm looking on Discogs and I'm surprised to see Rui Reininho on guitar and percussion, he's a well known Pop Rock singer in my country. I didn't know there was anything electronic in the 70's here, so I'll certainly look into it. Thanks Thumbs Up

This weekend:
Ashra - New Age of Earth
Steve Roach - Suspension and Reflection
Blåkulla - s/t (Lovely record, the cover really doesn't have anything to do with the music. I'm wondering if the drummer is related to Mattias Olsson.)

I received my copy last Friday, along with the previous two. I'm looking forward to give it a spin Big smile

I'm still not able to get around it, it's pretty aggressive LOL
Nice list, by the way. How's that Deuter album?

Djamra - Circle of Circus
Anar Band - s/t (It's quite good, it reminds me a bit of Elektriktus and Leprino. Nice find Tymon Smile)
Jethro Tull - Song From the Wood (First listen. It's probably the best I heard from them: a variety of keyboards, some cool instrumental parts, Anderson less annoying than usual (except for a couple of tracks), and songs with a Gentle Giant flavour.)
Eloy - Dawn (I don't know why I ignored this album, it's awesome Clap)
Klaus Schulze - Trancefer (Much better than the previous two albums.)
Salada de Frutas - Crime Perfeito

The Lord Weird Slough Feg - Traveller - An amazing heavy rock/metal/ prog elements/opera record based on the 1970s role playing game of the same name. A Space Opera of the highest caliber. If you have not heard this and are a fan of sci-fi themed rock....you are missing out. An excellent concept album.

A step down from BtS, which was a step down from Eggplant, which was a step down from TDDU, IMO. With a new drummer, and an exciting one at that (Tomas Järmyr of Zu et al.), I think they can find a way to change things up, which is very much needed after three good but not great albums.

Birds and Buildings - Bantam To Behemoth - Probably my favourite prog album of the 21st century so far. The vocals are nothing special and often lost in the mix, but there's so much going on instrumentally that it more than compensates. Yep, this is definitive eclectic prog. There's a bit of everything in here, and so much more; they're all over the place! If you adore complex, diverse, (and frankly insane) music, then this is a must-hear.
Excellent album! I prefer Multipurpose Trap ever so slightly though.

I second this. Awesome album! It may very well end up as one of my 2016 picks, as a matter of fact.
It made the list of both of you I see. Well deserved! Clap Yeah, a bit more fusion than the debut, which is a good thing, but it's missing that stand-out track that Escenes had in "Historia d'una Gota d'Aigua", IMO.

The Winstons - The Winstons - This one is more fresh and original sounding. Very creative stuff, and lots to appreciate even though I'm not a Canterbury super fan. The vocals aren't problematic, per se, but my favourite parts are probably the instrumental sections.
I enjoyed this as well, but not as much as I thought I would. I like my Canterbury whimsical, and I thought it lacked a bit in that department. Prefer these guys in a live environment so far. Everything sounded better on the Live in Rome album to me, felt the songs got through stronger on that one. Also, I agree about the vocals, not problematic per se, but the instrumental sections made more of an impression on me the first few listens. Need to spin both albums more though, haven't really absorbed either properly yet.

How good is that Dungen `Haxan' album?! Just started with it the other day, it's a ripper.

By the way, thanks for you also suggesting I check them out live, we had a Dungen concert in Melbourne here about three weeks ago, one of the best things I've seen/heard all year. Not only that, I got guitarist Reine Fiske to sign my Morte Macabre and Paatos `Timeloss' LP's, he seemed kind of dumbfounded when he saw them!  He was looking over the Paatos one and said `I don't think I've thought of this album in almost fifteen years...'

Heh, I did consider taking my Landberk `Riktigt Äkta' LP along as well, but that was a picture LP in a clear pastic sleeve, so his only option would have been to sign the actual vinyl and ruin it!
ohhh dude, I'd kill for a Dungen concert! I'm glad it turned out to be a good one...and also meeting Reine Fiske...this is so cool Clap
Haxan was such an easy listening for me, I loved it from the first spin, definitely one of my favorite albums this year.

Missed them when they came here last time, and I'm gonna miss them again when they play here on Friday as I'm going up to the family cabin this weekend. Cry Will definitely catch them next time though!

And yeah, Häxan is excellent! Just missed out on my top 5, but not by much.

Eskaton - 4 Visions(Wonderfully well-done, very dynamic album, a masterpiece )
Weidorje - Weidorje(The same as above but a little more slow and atmospheric)
Dün - Eros(I profundly hate the first track, but ALL the others are simply stunning beautiful and nice, even the bonus one, but my prefered has to be Arrakis)

And those must be the holy trinity of non-Magma Zeuhl masterpieces as far as I'm concerned. Wowza! I don't know if I'd be able to handle the awesomeness of listening to all three in one sitting.

Isn't it? Smile They are actually even listed in my order of preference. I love 4 Visions a lot. I have a strange relationship with Dün, though. I know the music is excellent, but, similiarly to Mahavishnu Orchestra, I just feel so shagged and fagged and fashed after listening to the band, the music seems to take a lot of my energy away. LOL Three great albums nonetheless.
Man, i've the same feeling with Dün, exists something in that album that makes it SO hard to digest, i've already encoutered him since 2014, and only some days ago i've begun to like the music, but the effort was rewarded, is pretty beautiful musicClap
Love the first two, and especially Weidorje, which was the first zeuhl album I heard. Eros I have a bit more trouble with same as you guys. The instrumentation is beautiful, but the compositions...yes, there's something there that makes it really hard to digest. We'll just have to keep at it, I suppose. LOL

Can – Tago Mago Out of the three albums Can made between 1971 and 1973, my favorite one tends to be the one that I’ve listened to the most recently. And here it’s no exception. This is a masterpiece, blending terrifically written songs, atonal experimentation, minimalist trance grooves, funky psychedelia. What is there not to love about Tago Mago?
My favourite Can album. A masterpiece indeed! Been a while since I last listened to it, but I haven't paid my respects to Jaki with a Can marathon yet, so I'll revisit it soon.

Yeah, great album that one. It really took me by surprise to find out that Gotic actually came back with a new album - just like with the new Bubu EP. But sure enough, both bands more than made up for lost time this year. I agree, it's a shame that the new album didn't have anything quite as stellar as that closing track on Escenes, but I think that Gegants is a lot more consistently strong across the board.

Right on! Those are my top two KC studio albums right there. And Ladies of The Road is one of their archival live releases that I've always had my eye on to purchase. The second CD of just 21st Century Schizoid Man seems like a bit much, though. LOL

As usual, lots of great selections in there. Always interested to see what you've been up to, listening-wise. Thumbs Up

I think HBM is more concise, even if it hasn't many tracks with the quality of the previous one. BTS could me better if some songs were not included, in my opinion. I only have these two on CD, so I can't compare with others Tongue

I guess I heard all the wrong albums then, I never heard the other two. I got two recommendations for SFTW a while ago and was only motivated to listen now because I'll likely see JT (whoever they are now) next May.

I saw that Skøtt album got a nice place in your list. Honestly, I ignored it because it sounded very much like the previous two, and I barely spun these LP's Embarrassed

Yesterday was all about music (and batfeaces crazy children). So much so that I forgot to sleep. Got three hours methinks...and then more children!
Anyways:

Klaus Johann Grobe - Spagat der Liebe (best album of 2016?)
Aktuala - s/t (unique folk act from Italy unites dozens of endemic musics into one pot)
Fläsket Brinner - Live Stockholm (Swedish old school jam - kinda like a proto version of Agusa)
Magic Bus - s/t (today's Caravan)
Syd Arthur - Apricity (honey)
Transit Express - Opus Progressif (furious percussion lead fusion. The drummer is insane!)
Andrew Hill - Compulsion (jazz that makes you go swoop)
Brother Ape - Force Majeure (modern prog that doesn't sound like prog...too erm...melodic?)
Circle - Pharaoh Overlord (best album of 2015)
Eldberg - Par Er Heimur Hugans (Icelandic band goes old school organ berserk)
Invisible - El Jardin De Los Presentes (Spinetta's vocals are so beautiful that a small deer dies everytime you spin this sucker)
Hooffoot - s/t (jazz rock with a sensuous live feel to the proceedings)
“The Guide says there is an art to flying or rather a knack. The knack lies in learning how to throw yourself at the ground and miss.”

- Douglas Adams

^  That's a full day of listening, David.   Thumbs Up

I picked up the Hooffoot album awhile back and I'm liking it. I'm wondering if they will put out another LP.

Have you heard the first Transit Express album called Priglacit? I think you'll like it.
