Wow, only 53.

`passed away peacefully'...what was wrong with him?

Although not really my kind of muysic, he was definitely a cut above most pop stars, a good strong vocalist and charismatic singer.

Sheesh.  Faith and Listen Without Prejudice, Vol 1 are among the few "pop" albums I own.  Great stuff.

Well, 2016 is almost over, so we are about at the end of 2016 deaths.  Who knows what 2017 will hold (other than Donald Trump).

2016 with one last (hopefully) kick to the music fan's nuts.  I can't say that I was a big fan, although he made a decent substitution for Freddy in Queen.

Yeah, Scott, I remember he nailed that run of Queen songs at the Freddie tribute concert.

^ Great performance, won me over.   Way too young to go.

A tremendous vocalist that could have excelled in any genre. Another sad death in 2016. I hope that 2017 gives us some respite.

I think he could have handled some metal songs. But without any growls, naturally.

The only music I own with George Michael is the Queen gig from Wembley. Still, I have always enjoyed (most of) his tunes, especially off Older, but in the end not enough to actually buy an album.
Rest in peace Georgios.

Never cared for his music, but he did have a set of pipes. 2016 cannot end soon enough with the toll it's taken on music.

Not a big fan of his music, but I have admired his moxy and voice.  Very sorry to see him go.

RIP George!

Back when,  I remember conversing with my wife after listening to her Faith album,  " My loss!  George Michael's voice is stupendous and how cool would it be if he were the lead singer for a talented prog band?"
