The Fratellis - Costello Music (I heard "Chelsea Dagger" on the radio the other day, I completelly forgot about these guys. I was really addicted on their first two albums eight years ago, very fun stuff.)
Popol Vuh - Das Hohelied Salomos
Farmhouse Odyssey - Rise of the Waterfowl (A very interesting new jazzy Symphonic Prog album. Quite similar to Promenade, now that I think about it.)
Forma - Physicalist (Reminds me of Steve Hauschildt, who coincidentaly (or not) is on the same label.)
Brainticket - Cottonwoodhill (I'm agreeing with Bonnek's review, the fun is over at the end of side A. Side B is more of the same.)
Papir - Untitled (A smooth EP to avoid nightmares Tongue)

For me:

Botany - Dimming Awe, the Light is Raw I liked Botany's newest ambient-jazzy album, so I decided to check out his previous works. This is something totally different - electro trip-hop with somewhat of an anti-commercial feel. The fact that I've really enjoyed listening to this album reminds me of how much I have evolved and matured musically over the last year. It's a really nice feeling to be able to enjoy many diverse genres.

Frank Zappa & the Mothers of Invention - Ahead of Their Time I love 1968-70 era of the Mothers, especially their live performances, this one is no exception. Sometimes the jokes they make onstage are so unfunny, they become funny and the performance is dripping with energy. The version of "King Kong" is fantastic here!

Amon Düül II  - Phallus Dei The first three Amon Düül II albums are really outstanding. I am just starting to notice how sophisticated their music is, despite the rather sloppy, stoned performance (which does have its charm). The atmosphere is so scary, satanic, just love it. Music for spending a night at a forest!

Fleetwood Mac - "Penguin": I would say this is a pretty underrated album in their catalog. Granted I tend to skip the songs sung by Walker and I'm not completely on board with the tune featuring the calypso jive, but the rest is quite good and the songs sung by Welch are outstanding. I swear, "Bright Fire" has this atmospheric "hanging out down by the old mill" vibe that's utterly sublime and authentic. It's just so hard to capture that aura these days.

Fleetwood Mac - "Bare Trees": The few times anyone's asked me what my fav Mac songs are, they always follow up my answers with "Hmm..."Sunny Side of Heaven", don't know it...did Stevie Nicks sing it?" I really enjoy this album (thankfully the only track I don't care for is the final one so I just stop it when that poem-reading thing starts) and Kirwin's stuff here is especially cool. Plus, I actually like the version of Welch's "Sentimental Lady" here; so organic and even a bit folky in a way. McVie has one of her better ballads here too.

Yawning Sons - Ceremony To The Sunset (This is really good too, Gary. There's a Krautrock vibe on this one. I think it could have a bit less vocals though.)
Klaus Schulze - Moondawn (Am I the only one bothered with the very delayed synth sound on the left channel on side A? It's so out of tempo with the drums, it gets on my nerves.)
Popol Vuh - Letzte Tage-Letzte Nächte
Love Machine - Circles (First listen, I bought the CD considering only Uwe's review. It's a German Psych Rock band with Southern Rock influences, it's surprisingly good.)

I have the orange vinyl version of the LP and Discogs has several copies at reasonable prices (two of the sellers are from Spain so that should work out good for you if you're interested).

Cheers, mate! Ha, you know I'm always on the lookout for THAT next album, whatever it might be, where I'll think `Now Tymon would dig the heck out of this…' Will report back whenever I come across an album like that for you!

It's funny you say that about Amon Düül II. The only album I was missing from their classic period up until a few months ago was `Tanz der Lemminge’, and I was kind of shocked that it was hugely ambitious, varied and unusually stylish and ravishing (for them!) despite having that same rough-as-guts messy playing! I honestly didn’t expect the album to sound anything like it did, full of many surprises.

IQ - Tales From The Lush Attic - Listened to my own custom expanded edition (as I always do now), with three of the GEP remaster bonus tracks worked into the flow of the disc. Great stuff! This is neo-prog done right. I always preferred this to the Genesis albums that they were trying to mimic (Foxtrot, Selling England). All of the classic Genesis sound, but with none of the lyrical silliness and way more instrumental firepower. What's not to love?

Black Sabbath - Black Sabbath - I'm not entirely sure why people consider this to be the first pure metal album and all that...it's more or less just a blues album. Historical debates aside, it's still enjoyable to put on. Iommi kills it throughout. I especially like the two medleys; he has some mighty fine soloing in them. I also really like the instrumental sections of the title track, but, gotta love Ozzy, every time I hear him yell "Oh GOD NOOOoooOOOOoo", I just burst out laughing. Of course they were trying to go for a blood-curling horror movie kind of effect, but it sounds more like the kind of scream you'd get from a stoner who just spilled the last bowl of chips all over the floor or something. LOL 

Richard Betts - Highway Call - Perhaps the best Allman Brothers alumni solo album of them all. This is pure country goodness from start to finish! Great interplay between Betts' electric, the lap steel, and Vassar Clements' fiddle. Although there's a lot of focus on that sweet, sweet country jamming, the songwriting isn't half bad, either. Long Time Gone and Highway Call are beautiful songs; pure nostalgia. Highly recommended to any fans of the more country-oriented side of Southern Rock.

Very kind of you to say that, Michael! I am digging the heck out of that Arkham album you have recommended to me a few months ago! You know what I like. Smile

Same with me - I came relatively late to listening to Tanz der Lemminge and I was really surprised at how ambitious and varied it was. It's interesting, because it is psychedelic and completely stoned and at the same time, the compositions are well-organised and musicianship very tight. Great, baffling album! I need to listen to Wolf City some more, I know it's very good, but I never got hooked on it.

Waterloo Lily is a Caravan album I really like, too. I think it's even above Grey and Pink in my book. "The Love in Your Eyes" is such a killer track! It's at the same time beautiful a la Camel from Mirage and incredibly Canterburian (just check out that flute solo!). And Richard Sinclair's playing is spectacular throughout.

Cool to see you span that Forma album. Currently listening to it myself. You're right it does remind me a bit of Hauschildt, only I find it a tad more varied and interesting tbh. Not that I don't appreciate him - I just really dig Physicalist

Pendragon - The Jewel - I remembered this was one of the albums that I listened to quite a bit when I was first getting into prog. Jeepers, my taste was awful back then! The melodies are frankly quite uninspired, and the overtly 80's production doesn't help. I'm very glad that I didn't spend any money on this one (a mistake that I made when I was briefly infatuated with Pallas' The Sentinel).

IQ - Ever - Ah, this is much better. Not masterpiece material, but there are some fine melodies and spirited performances throughout. 

Promenade - Nir Al Dir Di Noi - Ah, this is much better. Now we're back in the big leagues. From first listen, I can confidently call this my favourite album of 2016. Absolutely flawless; superb production, sublime compositions, plenty of romance, virtuosity, and sexy jazz touches. Just about everything I love in music can be heard somewhere in here. Love this album!

Harmonium - Harmonium - Speaking of sublime albums. I don't love this one quite as much as Cinquieme Saison or l'heptade, but it still has its own charm and beauty that set it apart. Serge Fiori sounds great on everything he sings, so I have no complaints here. Fantastic stuff.

Interpose+ - Interpose+ - Wow, what a pleasant surprise! I had no idea what kind of a sound to expect from these guys, but the cover was intriguing enough to that I checked it out. I'm very glad that I did as it's really fantastic. There's nothing not to like. Bright, active, instrumental playing with delightful synth and wind timbres playing off each other, a very upbeat, urban, modern, sort of vibe, and emotive vocals. Definitely one that I'll be adding to my "to buy" list!

Khan - Space Shanty - The very best Canterbury album in my opinion. Canterbury, lighthearted as it is, is one of those genres that seems to be very conducive to abstract silliness, but what Khan does so wonderfully is work those absurd ideas and influences into something so structured, tangible, and ultimately very emotive. There's such an enchanting atmosphere weaved throughout the album, and a very nostalgic sort of vibe to the whole affair. Oh yeah, and there's something to be said for the killer interplay between Hillage and Stewart. If only it wasn't for the fact that Hollow Stone is a step down in inspiration from the songs that precede it, I'd consider this one to be an unequivocal masterpiece.
