Austra - Feel it Break (synthpop with classically trained vocals, really prog)
Austra - Olympia (even more prog than Feel it Break) Bat for Lashes - The Bride Bar for Lashes - The Haunted Man Bat for Lashes - Two suns Kansas - Freaks of Nature Kansas - The Prelude Implicit Ms MR - How Does it feel (synth/dance pop) Nathalie Nordness - NN Nike & the Dove - Instinct Outfit - Slowness Röyksopp - The Inevitable End Of all the above, Kansas is the least progressive, making standard rock with lots of guitarsolos and some violin. But hey, it's great stuff....

^ As a matter of fact it did. I heard three heavy/psychedelic albums before so it was nice for a change... and to calm down before going to bed I still think there's some "stagnation" halfway through though

To be honest, I love all the first eight Soft Machine albums. Third is an unquestionable studio favortie, but I really like Fourth and Fifth, I find they do share a lot of similarities with the stuff ECM has been producing at the time, very dark fusion. This aesthetic just appeals to me very much. Seven and Bundles are both great albums, I like Seven just a tiny bit more. I have not listened to Six in a while, so can't tell for now. But, I love live Soft Machine albums from 1970/71, in my opinion, some of these feature the band's best moments. Especially stuff with Lyn Dobson! |

I see your point, sometimes I get bored with it. I think "In My Time of Dying" is way more repetive though.
Too bad I can't stream it anywhere, that sounds interesting I've been (re)discovering Popol Vuh lately, I'll be sure to give it a listen. How could you not?

How about some EGG? There is a very nice 200g reissue of The Polite Force by Deram that you can get at reasonable price. Unless you don't like Egg, of course. Today: Igor Wakhevitch - Hathor Edited by ALotOfBottle - November 07 2016 at 12:10 |

Just one this morning:
Van Halen - Van Halen - Man, this brings me back to when I was 12! I may not be as addicted to all things VH nowadays, but there are still some fantastic rock songs on here. I'm The One, Ice Cream Man, On Fire... it was really the less famous Van Halen tracks where they worked their best magic.

Zoltan - Tombs of the Blind Dead Roger Powell - Cosmic Furnace (I really enjoyed this one, Michael ) Zacht Automaat - More Down Than Out Zacht Automaat - Normality Bias Goat - World Music (ZA reminded me of Goat for some reason) Anakdota - Overloading (Debut album from a new Israeli Prog band. Instrumentally it's basically piano, bass and drums but the musicians are very skilled on their respective instrument.) Curved Air - Second Album Gentle Giant - Octopus (5.1 DTS. Thanks again for your help Nick, it sure was a dumb system configuration ) Steven Wilson - 4 1/2 (Also on 5.1 DTS. I think "My Book of Regrets" and "Vermillioncore" are better than most songs on HCE)
