Well I don't have the album but only listened to about half of it on utube, I remember it being very good actually, the line up is certainly impressive. I'm guessing you're recommending it... And man it's been years since I last played this Shadowfax album, I don't remember it at all.

The Cars - 'Panorama': Strangely "arty" at times for a Cars record, even the single "Touch and Go" is rather bonkers during the verses. Some neat guitarwork and Atari-style synths to go along with the girl-chasing lyrics.
Chelsea Wolfe - 'Apocalypsis': Some of these songs are like PJ Harvey's creepy little sister and others are dreary sonic landscapes. Guitar-based with a bit of folkiness and a bizarre album cover makes it a Halloween treat. Elvis Costello - 'Armed Forces' - I have the version with "Peace Love and Understanding". Remains to this day as my favorite album by the man with the poor dancing skills, especially for "Accidents Will Happen". What a song!

Classical music isn't dead, it's more alive than it's ever been. It's just not on MTV.

As is my Halloween tradition, I waited until late at night and put on In The Court of The Crimson King. Such a great, fitting album for this time of year (in the northern hemisphere, at least)!

I'm not a Zepplin fan, but maybe it's time for me to dig into their less popular work? |

Glad you dug `Nordborg', man. The next one `Atmosphere' is perhaps best of all and probably AvD's defining moment. It's got a shorter uptempo poppier piece to open with, but then it goes into dreamy Floydian atmospheres and so loooooong multi-sectioned extended stuff that is full of originiality and great ideas. Just be careful about the album after it, a massive change in direction (which is admittedly admirable it self), but it has a lot of acoustic guitar and Von Deyen on vocals in a kind of quasi-mellow Floyd manner, but it's pretty forgettable and uninteresting. `Planets' after it is better, but still a far cry from the precious first three (well, they're precious to me! ) You know, that second Present album is actually in my top ten all-time favourites! An icy and creeping develish nightmare, love it to bits....so does my office at work...well, OK, so they don't love it, try the complete other end of that, but they sure hear it enough! |

Yesterday: Jonas Palm - Ze Wörmnest This is a rather obscure electronic album, from 1980, when the Berlin scene was not as flashy and creative as it used to be. Jonas Palm uses only one synthesizer on this, which results in a bit of a dull sound. It’s a shame, because his abilities do deserve a wider plethora of timbres and sounds. Recommended for investigators of progressive electronic. Samla Mammas Manna - Snorungarnas Symfoni Far from being my favorite Samla Mammas Manna album, but it’s still pretty good. They have, however, taken a route that was visible on the previous albums to the extremes. Very melodic, nostalgic, which is great, but estranging jazzy and comedic qualities that made Samla Mammas Manna Samla Mammas Manna. Nucleus - Elastic
Rock I like
Nucleus. I like the British jazz scene in general. Elastic Rock is a very creative album with elements that really
define Nucleus. There is, however, one odd thing that bothers me about the
sound of this album and I can’t really elaborate that. Maybe it’s from
listening to Soft Machine too much? Count in Popol Vuh's Aguirre - The Wrath of God, as I've watched the movie, if that counts anyhow. |

Out of the `Big Three' first three Banco albums, I think `Darwin' is the one I'm least familiar with, Sagi, at least compared to how much I've overdosed on the debut and `Io Sono Nato Libero' over the years. I should make a mental note to listen to it much more often, but I know it's superb. Actually, I think I know `Come in Un'ultima Cena' even better than `Darwin'! That, too, is a very respectable and underrated album from them. |

Quite surprising I think. I would've guessed you know it front back and upside down. All three are amazing no doubt about it, but imo Darwin contains stronger material, a bit more mature and confident then the rough around the edges debut, I think it has a better sound quality too. Io Sono is in the same league more or less, but still Darwin wins here too. Definitely check it out more closely. And yeah Come In Ultima Cena is really good ha? I'm glad that you're loving it. I'm waiting to see how you'd like Garofano Rosso... |

Camel - Mirage It was exactly a year ago that I've discovered how great this album is. Sweet memories, man. Beautiful melodies, beautiful sounds. Love it.
Art Zoyd - Génération Sans Futur Great album showcasing Art Zoyd's "classic" chamber style. Although I might be in a minority, I find Art Zoyd's music to be much more scary than that of Univers Zero (which I do love dearly). |
