Songs you can't stand

When I saw this thread I instantly thought of "Thong Song" by Sisqó. Such a ubiquitous summer song back in 2000, not sure what Sisqó is up to now, perhaps wandering the streets of Minneapolis in a thong...

The worst most torturous songs for me

Fatboy slim, praise you and funk soul brother.
I can't recall if it is both, but when the song ends, you are so thankful. Then it starts again..

There is a song i think called aeroplane by filter that I can't stand as well.

They were on the radio nonstop years ago

BTW, a buddy of mine and i have a project going of coming up with the absolute worst pop songs of all time. Rules are simple, they have to have been pop hits and we have to agree on them as being the most cringeworthy. I have a huge tolerance for cheese and actually like a lot of the crap that makes others bark at the moon but even i have my limits. I'm putting together a list on RYM so i'll share here once i'm done :0

That may have been "Take a Picture".  Yeah, it pales in comparison to "Hey Man Nice Shot".

There's of course a bunch of others, but one song I come to think of is a song that's probably called "I won't back down" because that phrase is repeated. It might be Gary Moore. It just goes round and round, has no dynamics and is extremely boring. I haven't heard it for a long time thankfully, buit that's just an example of a type of rock/pop song which is very simplistic and gives a bad and depressing feeling.

Sting - Every breath you take.
This song has emerged as a hate-song, because it constantly shows up, it seems like a hear it every other month. And like the previous song I mentioned it is very simplistic in a way that causes a very bad feeling. That middle section is also meaningless, just too dramatic, contrived and meaningless.

Celine Dion - My heart will go on
This was the number one hated song for me, but I haven't heard it for like 10 years which is a relief.

There's thousands more, but I have a problem with different "classics" as they may be called. My nearest grocery store plays a radio on with a lot of "classic" crap, so I try to avoid that store.

Totally agree with these! Depressing songs. There is also another Cetera hit song I think, can't remember it now. I think the problem is songs that want to express something in a  dramatic way and yet it's just incredibly mediocre.

Pete C was great in Chicago. I don't think much of his solo career, bar his 1981 debut. Great bassist.

Wake Me Up Before You Go Go is another guaranteed to ruin a day or night.
