Anyone got the new Jarre album? How is it?
I've only heard the collab with Tangerine Dream but not much impressed. |

Brian Eno - "Textures" (1989) An intriguing compilation of ambient themes by Eno that apparently has never been released to the public but only as a promo - Dreamy and mesmerizing music - |

Cheers, Dave, now I have a recommendation of yours to look into, as I'm totally unfamiliar with that name! I have about twenty Ishq-related releases, and they're always superb. Each sounds different to the last, some are drifting like this one, others have subtle beats, more world elements, some are very abstract and freeform avant-garde experimentations. Sadly I don't think they're close to having enough obviously `prog' elements for this site, though! |

That Robert Rich performance is sensational, Sam, always loved it. If you haven't heard it already, I highly recommend you look into his recent studio album `Filaments'.
Oh, and I'll be completely honest, I just get rock-hard looking at the vinyl collection that completely surrounds him on all sides in this clip!! Here's another good one I play a lot from Steve Roach, wish they'd release this performance on a proper CD (unless they have and it simply passed me by?): |

It was Michael Brückner that highly recommended me that concert I haven't heard it yet, but I certainly will
Me too, best background ever... light effects are overrated Really good concert so far, too bad we can't see what he's doing. You don't have enough of his live performances on CD? |

There's a superb performance from Robert Rich at the same convention, Sam, and it's lit much better, you can clearly see everything he's doing. I wonder if Roach likes the mystery of the shadows?! Probably something like `preferring to let the music speak for itself' etc!
I wish artists like this would release more official live DVD/Blurays, I personally find it hugely fascinating seeing what they're doing, despite the idea that artists like this are kind of tedious to watch on screen. Yeah, my Roach collection is growing rather fertile! I've got a special CD tower that they slot into, but going by his rate of releases, it will be full within a year! |

That or because he seems like a shadowy guy
I didn't find it tedious at all, it was entertaining to see Rich jumping from one place to another and finding his way on that complicated system, especially that modular synth And best of all, see how space is created Awesome! I hope you have time to listen to them all |

To this day, the '80s remains my favorite "era" of his. |
