Well a culture is never pure, it's just a collection of jokes characterizing people from the same social and natural environments, so no egg yolks are being torn open, it's really just one basic drink mixing with another.

"Cultural diversity" doesn't exist with mass immigration. Cultural diversity exists with Nationalism, to be witnessed with travel. Mass immigration destroys cultures in favour of a bland melting pot. Oh, but we get ethnic food so that's ok.
If I go to Paris I want to see Paris, not Mogadishu. Even BBC columnists are backing down from their shameless pro-migrant stance now Edited by Triceratopsoil - September 23 2015 at 19:24 |

In the way that according to the numbers, they very likely do more work than they demand in income from the state, even compared to the average inhabitant, besides the fact that cultural diversity is simply fun and the fact that we have used our wealth to actually improve the world beyond our own borders by helping those who are less fortunate, which satisfies our moral.

You may say they're not immigrants but they're at least mostly a direct, evidently positive, consequence of immigrants, your opinion is comparable to getting bags of money smacked into your face before you get to take them home, and you quit because you don't want your face to hurt.

The United Nations Refugee Agency reported last week there were 72
per cent men, 13 per cent women, and just 15 per cent children making
the trip to Europe. This was out of a total of 381,412 people,
meaning that 274,616 of those making the trip were men, with just 49,583
women, and 57,211 children. Eurostat report showed 75% of migrants are male, 80% under 35 years old. Of the migrants living in the tent city in Dresden, for instance (erected over a bulldozed city park, btw), 79.3-per-cent are men, 12.4-per-cent are women, and 8.3-per-cent are children. Eurostat reports only 1/5 migrants are from Syria - i.e. most are not refugees. The UN numbers are intentionally misleading (as mentioned above), they only give demographics for people accepted for asylum (which are 54% Syrians).Top 5 nationalities crossing Mediterranean into Europe German authorities report that most asylum seekers claim to be from Syria, but many of those are not. Same with Greece and Serbia. Harder to find specific welfare & govt assistance statistics because leftist governments would rather keep it hushed up, but here are some from the Netherlands by country of origin. In Sweden the 15.1% made up by immigrants make up 60.5% of the entire welfare costs for the nation, according to statistics published by The Swedish Social Insurance Agency and The National Board of Health and Welfare (sorry lost the link, should be google-able) Migrants leave Denmark in favour of Sweden, because the former "doesn't give them enough benefits" (2) Migrants consider Austria and Hungary unsuitable because they don't get free food, education, and houses like in Germany Many migrants drawn by welfare in Northern Europe After 10 years, only 60% of immigrants to Sweden are employed. The corresponding figure for native-born Swedes is 85%. Edited by Triceratopsoil - September 23 2015 at 16:26 |

Any anti-immigrant sentiment in this country is no worse than in any European country. The recent migrant crisis has shown this to be true. |

Maybe, just maybe America is a superpower because of their immigrants, did anyone ever tell you that?

Well, I think the Republican party is currently encouraging xenophobia among its base, but the Republican base hardly amounts to a majority of the country (they make a whole lot of noise but that doesn't make them a majority).
There has always been an anti-immigrant theme running through American populism, but 'anti-immigrant' in that context means 'people who immigrated to America after I immigrated to America.' So take it all with a very large grain of salt.

doesn't xenophobia just mean fear of foreigners? or does it have some subtle connotation I'm unaware of?

^ baloney samwich.........The United States has long been seen as the “land of opportunity”, the home of the American Dream. With the largest national economy in the world, well-developed infrastructure and high educational and social mobility, it is not hard to see its appeal. It hosts almost 20% of the world’s migrants, and boasts a huge mix of races, cultures and traditions. Despite government policies clamping down on illegal immigration, it still accepts far more international migrants than anywhere in the world, and the trend looks set to continue.

Yes, xenophobia is the word. Galup research showed very clear the growing xenophobia in USA, and the right-wingers encouraged that.
