As I suppose most of you know, I am not American, and the nasty remark that one member made about Italians (according to him, we are only good at making food, wine and progDead) was the final nail in the coffin as far as my participation to that forum. While I am a reasonably good cook, I have never made wine or music in my life. However, I like to think there are a couple of other things I can do - such as speak and write in passably good English, for instance.

Confused Yikes! PE sounds a club for cavemen! Better to ignore it then.

Dear god its not the wild west its an internet forum where most of the participants are friendly, knowledgeable and welcoming, like most places there are a few trolls to avoid but they can't be more than 2 to 3 percent of the posters.

Well...I did post on the recent Roy Harper thread because I'm a Harper fan...but when looking around I couldn't find that many threads that interested me, but I just started perusing so it might take a while.

In my case, it wasn't a troll, but a longtime member, and a musician to boot. I also remember that you jumped in my defense (which I will be eternally grateful forSmile). Still, it was enough to put me off - which is a pity, as there are many threads there that interest me, such as the one "little Ian" posted about Ut Gret.

in that PA's has become much more like PE's.  God almighty was this place a glorious chaotic mess in its glory days..  the admins had to refresh the sawdust on the floor twice a day for all the blood spilled with both trolls and the innocent gunned down in broad daylight by roving bands of forum terrorists.

yeah.. this forum has matured greatly over the last 6 or 7 years.  I am prone to hypebole.. but ask any of the 05 or 06'rs.. for we talk of it often.. this forum is VERY different from what it it used to be. Much friendlier.. less drive by shootings... more condusive to friendly discussions.. yet in it's own strange way.. a more boring forum. I love the change.. yet in a way miss the old forum.  You got as far as your speed on the draw and how straight you shot..  (wit and knowledge).

Micheal, Raff might be the writer in the family, but you sure do have a talent for turning a phrase! :-)

Maybe I'll start a couple of Roy and Ut Gret threads here and see what happens.

Well, Ancestor's Tale was voted as #12 in PA's Best of 2014 list, so there's still hope...

and would have been higher if I hadn't boycotted the voting for all the SWilson abuse heaped upon previous year's lists. LOL

I agree... This place was wild, exciting and also dangerous, partly due to the first generation Admin's laissez-faire attitude . Most of my 12000 posts (5/6, I'd say) date from the first four years or so. There were days where I spent most of my time posting away on the PA forums, never drawing my Colts first, but also  never fearing to get in the thick of things ... Though, at first, I hesitated, lurking for a few months before diving from the deep end and biting sharks and killer whales already in there

Micky has a sense of formula, which I like to emulateLOL, but yeah the place has become somewhat boring next to what it ob-nce was
