The Poll that really counts (because it can't be manipulated so easily) is in the home page of ProgArchives, and there Genesis beat's everybody else by far, followed by Pink Floyd and almost a tie between Yes and Anglagard:

Quote TOP 20: Collaborator's most popular progressive rock albums:

  1. GENESIS Foxtrot
  2. GENESIS Nursery Cryme
  3. PINK FLOYD Animals
  4. GENESIS Selling England By The Pound
  5. YES Close to the Edge
  6. ANGLAGARD Hybris
  7. ANGLAGARD Epilog
  8. YES Fragile
  9. JETHRO TULL Thick As A Brick
  10. PINK FLOYD Meddle
  11. PINK FLOYD Dark Side of the Moon, The
  12. PINK FLOYD Wish You Were Here
  13. KING CRIMSON In the Court of the Crimson King
  14. MARILLION Misplaced Childhood
  15. GENESIS A Trick Of The Tail
  16. PINK FLOYD Atom Heart Mother
  17. YES The YES Album
  18. CAMEL Mirage
  19. PINK FLOYD The Wall
  20. EMERSON LAKE & PALMER (ELP) Brain Salad Surgery

The top 2 , three of the five top albums are from Genesis, the first Yes album is at place 5, the first ELP album is in place 20.

I believe it's taken from the reviews. But being only for collaborators, is very restricted poll and not valid in statistical terms, but at least youcan't vote twice..

Exactly... that poll just means that most of the collaborators are Genesis fans.. and really means even less than this poll in the long run...

When we say Genesis, I don't think we are talking about "we can't dance" mate. Mostly Gabriel Era stuff. The rest is not Genesis. I think I'd vote for Pinik floyd, or Genesis, or Focus, but Focus isn't here! You can't really put up a list of 20 prog bands and expect an answer like that; so many great bands are left out. How can you judge who the best prog band is? You may be able to differentiate between the calibur of bands, but not who the supreme band is. But I'm just going to add a bunch on floyd and Genesis anyway.
