Any early FLOYD, Hawkwind, Ozrics......
VDGG - Pawn Hearts
CARAVAN - early albums
NEKTAR - any early-70's release
Gong...........
come to think of it - most Prog..........
Try some Zeuhl, but I found it too oppresive and dark.

It depends on how to define "best". Assuming you're into that kind of... recreation, it would probably be best to listen to music you actually enjoy. If you high as a kite listening to something you don't like, you're likely just listening to the music out of obligation.

It's all great whether or not one is under some sort of influence. But I do hear tell that Firesign Theater's "I Think We're All Bozos On This Bus" is truly special after a nice, warm bowl of cream of mushroom soup.

Being high doesn't work for me, tried it, lived in Holland for 8 years and nope not my thing, I hate anything that makes me slow down :) my imagination is weird and crazy enough too, I do not need more.
