As some written tributes by Wakeman, Rabin and others that I have read in Facebook said, "this is the end of an era", maybe the end of YES ,with Chris Squire being the only original member of the band that still was in the band since 1968. Maybe they are going to carry on for a time without Squire to fill the previously contracted tour dates. Who knows? I can`t imagine a YES band without Squire lasting more than these planned tours for 2015-2016. Or maybe they are finally going to cancel them. Anyway, the band could never be the same without him.

Well, there you go. Always thought Fish Out Of Water was just okay, solid, nothing to write home about it. Listening to it again now and genuinely taken aback by how good it actually is.

I still remember when I first heard the 'real' Chris (with his Rickenbacker) - I had 90125 and Big Generator - then I got FRAGILE (this was during 1987). That bass in South Side Of The Sky infused me with the obsession of purchasing a Ricky, and Squire has meant the world to me since. I do have many bass heroes (Geddy, Beggs, Wetton, Lake, Rutherford, Top, Berlin, Sinclair, Waters........the list goes on.......) but none more important than Master Squire. The (inevitable) end is so sad. Time to put Yes to bed, but we will have dedications no doubt - lest we not EVER forget one of Prog-Rock's most esteemed performers. I will miss having him 'with us'.

Hi Tom,

although I'm a keyboard player, bass is often the instrument I zone in on when listening, and none more than Chris Squire. And the backing vocals too were, and are, always so interesting and creative as well. I'm also glad Yes did H and E which has some great tracks, but "Fly From Here" is even better--I put it on the other night and I think it really holds up as a great album in the second half of their career.

I can barely put into words how much Chris Squire's work has meant to me over the years as a musician and very much wish we had many more years of him around! But, thankful for the legacy of course.
