The song that was leaked the other day was certainly quite bad. Hopefully the low point of the album.
Dig me...But don't...Bury me I'm running still, I shall until, one day, I hope that I'll arrive Warning: Listening to jazz excessively can cause a laxative effect.

Steven needs to quit putting out so many albums.
Sometimes I think it's just his opinionated side that just has to say something ... otherwise I keep thinking that we would be hearing just music and sounds, and no words.
i don't know ... maybe I'm getting old ... silence is nice and golden many times and "rock" music is getting very boring, specially when you hear someone/something like this.
And yes ... I want more PT, and less Steven Wilson! But I doubt his ego can handle that!

Oh well, I have enjoyed Steven Wilson solo much more than Porcupine Tree (except perhaps for Coma Divine, which was really wonderful). However, I guess we'll have to see what he comes up with his next solo album...

Not much love for Insurgentes it appears? Surprising really. I find that to be excellent, especially as it was his solo debut. No Twilight Within The Courts of the Sun is surely one of his best ever songs.
Significant Other
amazing track imo
The psychedelic pop song of Insurgentes! One of my favorites too, especially from Insurgentes.
This new album... I bought the pre-order deluxe set of The Raven, one of my cherished possessions and well, I'm glad I'm broke this year Prog-pop can be done well, (a commentor on Youtube noted the similarities to Todd Rundgren in this new song (though I don't see the similarities...) ), this side of Steven Wilson I'm disappointed in.
At least he's trying something new, though. That was the downfall of Ziltoid 2. After Townsend trying a new style EACH album, Ziltoid 2 sounded like everything else he did before.
I guess it's a lose-lose scenario for Wilson

Yep he has put out three masterpieces in a row imo. Impossible to keep that going but he has earnt the right to have a failure if that is what it turns out to be.

Still liking what I've heard. Different from what I'm used from Steven Wilson, but I like it just because of that. Still, I don't think I'll like it as much as The Raven, nor even Grace for Drowning, but I believe (hope) I will truly enjoy it. This songs sound like he could get some more mainstream success with some of this songs.

I am glad its a departure on the one hand because I wouldn't want an inferior version of GFD or The Raven. I think this will be a solid release and really it would be difficult to maintain the levels of those albums which are both masterpieces in my book.

hah.
Book it. The OP missed it... he should have introduced the album as the future 'PA's top album of 2015' continuing a long tradition of S.W/P.T albums taking the top spot.
I got a 100 bucks to anyone who thinks it DOESN'T win album of the year?
any takers?

I'm tempted, even though I generally can't come up with that kind of dough, since Insurgentes and The Incident were controversial enough to not win their respective years, and this new one seems to be shaping up to join them in the vaulted #5 spot.
