Fellow forum members,'

The year is almost over, and that usualy is a time to look back on the year. So here's a question for you.

Which album is the best album released this year?

Mine two favourites are:

1. Riverside  "Out of Myself"

2. IQ  "Dark Matter"

I have to agree.

1. Riverside!

2. Happy the Man - The Muse Awakes

3. Salem Hill - Be (It may be 2003, but very late 2003.)

Dark Matter? Surely in the top 12-25.

It would have been better to have a poll of 20 choices of 2004 releases. I can't remember what came out this year, CRS for old proggers trying to act kool.

I don't know much new releases myself, I wanted to make it a pole initialy, but was afraid to leave some essentials out, this way everything can be added, I can alway's calculate the outcome afterwards.

One of the reasons I started this, was to learn about good releases I did not know about anyway.

Of the few I've heard, "The Human Equation" (Ayreon), "One" (Neal Morse), and "Out of Myself" (Riverside). Sorry to repeat, but they're gooooooood.

now then: the best album of 2005? i vote for spock's beard's upcoming "octane". It'd better be good. (preview at their website)

Without a shadow of a doubt, the best album of 2004 is Ayreon's The Human Equation.

As for 2005, I'd say the best will probably end up being Porcupine Tree's Deadwing or The Mars Volta's Frances the Mute.
