Topic: She Blinded Me with Science Vs Cars Posted: October 24 2014 at 19:11 |
Which do you prefer: She Blinded Me With Science by Thomas Dolby or Cars by Gary Numan?

Of course Dolby, though I preferred dbx to dolby...
He used to be a human, but now he's Gary Numan.

I like both, but Cars is clearly the superior track. Thomas Dolby did tons better than Science.

Me neither Doc, but for some reason that Cars song got stuck in my head after my niece was playing it in her car! I finally got it out by listening to the first Sabbath album later in the day. Thank god for Black Sabbath!

Cars.
I 'respect' Gary Numan. There are songs of his I like, but I'm no huge fan. I just like the fact that literally nothing else sounds like him. Numan is an Aspergers sufferer, and Cars is about how he used to feel safe in his car after being frequently chased down the streets by thugs who wanted to kick the sh*t out of him for looking different.

She blinded me. Both are good to see in concert. I would go with Dolby over Numan though.

Never liked Blinded me with Science at the time which was 1982 and it sounds like the kind of awful 80s pop I don't like. On the other hand at the end of the 70s I was a big fan of electropop like Tubeway Army, OMD, Ultravox! etc. Cars is certainly better than Dolby as it is still listenable now (which is surprising) but I still prefer the Tubeway Army stuff. Blinded is worse now than it was at the time.
You can guess who I voted for.

I hate both, but not equally. Cars is detestable drek.
