Brasilian Funk reached that standard long before any other "music genre" (if we can call it thta), and as to worsen things rap and hip hop are in the way...

To complete the total "ears apocalypse", I'll be taken as an E.T. if somebody in my city hear that from me in about a years, if they still can hear something or the "decibels" still allow them for that...

Every national anthem should feature Rebecca Black soloing no less than 3 days of Nyan Cat on contrabassoon, backed by Nickelback and/or Meshuggah playing the spoons amongst various other culinary utensils.

If pop music worth bacterial roastings isn't negligible rather blindly in dynasties, my gargantuan London-made murk fetches indoor herbivores and correlates to modern hopscotch anthems.

Pete Townsend alone is a better songwriter than Lennon & McCartney together.

In my city classical music is kind of worshiped in every single corner of the streets, you can take benefits of a full weekly schedule of many kinds of classical cycles as well as concerts in the most important theatres. In the other hand, quite the opposite occurs to other genres like jazz, soul, hip hop, blues, rap, funk etc., which you really have to dig a lot to find some good shows (excessively expensive btw).

Dream Theater's best album is A Change of Seasons.

All Neo-Prog bands are nothing but second rate copycats of post-Gabriel Genesis (except for Twelth Night which was a second rate copycat of Van der Graaf Generator).

Sometimes, Frank Zappa said dumb stuff.

The lack of success of Rush in Europe and in Japan may be explained by the fact that Europeans and Japaneses have better tastes in music... Or more interesting bands...

At first, the members of Kansas chose this name because they didn't believe they could make it out of this state...

Remember these lines from Neurotica: "I repeat myself when under stress, I repeat myself when under stress..." If you ask me, Fripp must have been under heavy stress this last decade...

I came to this thread expecting jokes and hyperbole. But all these opinions are accurate as far as I can tell.

The Carpenters were the best progressive rock act of the 70's.

ELP would have been a great band in the 80's: they would have replaced Palmer by a beatbox and there would have been no drum solo at their concerts!

Jeff Lynne was the best drummer I ever heard, especially his performance on Deep Purple's The House of Blue Light, smack in the middle of the most amazing decade of music ever, the glorious 1980s. Still, it's hard to compare it with Van der Graaf Generator's performance on the Xanadu soundtrack or the Bee Gees' Invisible Touch album featuring the great Mike Rutherford on lead vocals. Things have really gone downhill since then.

You need to be on drugs or heavily drunken to enjoy the Beatles' "I Wanna Hold Your Hand".

To really experience Prog music at its best, you must listen it on TAPES.

Klaus Schulze should do the music for Dragon Ball.
