Fragile is by far the best
and rarely quoted here!

I haven't listened to drama enough to know, but I like what i've heard of it, my favourite Yes album from the eighties and early nineties (not incl. ABWH) would be 90125, after that they occasionaly come up with good albums (too rarely it seems). Only Magnification and Keys to ascension delivered the real thing.

90125 was actually the first Yes album I ever heard. While I can see why some die hards who grew up with them may have a problem with it, I always thought it was a great album

I reckon "Talk" is very underrated. The line up is probably the reason, as both Howe and Wakeman are missing, but personally I find the music excellent.

Endless Dream on talk is excellent, never heard the whole album though.
I think Drama is awesome! It's my fav 80's yes (excluding ABWH)
Isn't the "new one" very progressive? all the songs I heard from it are excellent except for Don't go.

I chose drama, but definitely 90125 has the best production!

I voted for Drama, because INTO THE LENSE and MACHINE MESSIAH are even too great for the band without a leader on! :-)
Really, all the 4 mentioned albums are outstanding.

Every now and then, I give Talk a listen. I can never find anything interesting on it. The Ladder always sounds like they needed just a little more inspiration.
Magnification I enjoy quite a bit.

For me 'Drama' is not a marginallized album, but a work better than 'Tormato'...
But for me the best 'margin' album from YES is 'Big Generator'. I don't know why it isn't here...![](smileys/smiley5.gif)

Of those listed, DRAMA is easily the best, although 90125 is very close to it in quality.
The only Yes album I just don't like is Big Generaror. Tales has its moments, but all the rest are OK with me. Count me among the few who actually like Union & Talk.

Any album Yes released after the seventies doesn't get enough credit (Imo) But in a way I can understand why people don't like 90125 and Big Generator (They're not Close to the Edge and Fragile), Even though I reckon they're great albums!!
- Drama ****
- 90125 **** (3.5 for the hardcore prog fan)
- Big Generator ***
Those eighties greats I really enjoy!! Magnification is equal to Drama I think. And Keys to Ascension (Studio side) is just as good too.

very clearly DRAMA, although TALK must come a
close second, but don't throw 90125 in with them,
that to me was, or rather, became a credible
YES-album i itself.
and i enjoy parts of UNION as well. my theory is,
hadn't any of the sour grapes about the
creation/abortion of this album escaped to the
public, it might well have become one of the most
adventurous YES-albums in the public domain... any
thoughts on this?

Drama WITHOUT question. I can't believe some people would even consider
putting the other albums over it. I guess it's all just opinion. I think Drama
rivals the bands best.
The "band's new one" is also easily the second best choice on that list IMO.
Magnification is a fantastic album if you can handle the 3 pop songs on it.
And with the look of some 80s yes fans, you would all be VERY surprised at
how good Magnification really is.
