sorry i screwed up the other thread...

Probably a repeated thread, but deal with it.

I just got Nursery Crime today, and I've just started to really listen to it... and i don't yet own the Lamb... but for now my vote goes for Foxtrot.

ignore this thread, there's no Archives I, you suck

Now seriously, I voted for Nursery Cryme, no song comes near to The Musical Box and Fountain of Salmacis even when I would delete For Absent Friends.

Pah! Nursery Cryme was just the band limbering up for their real masterpiece, Foxtrot.

Foxtrot (Suppers Ready is the best twenty minute prog track IMO)

I go for Selling England - Because it's got Firth of Fifth/ Cinema Show - The two finest Genesis compositions - It's also got BOEF/DOWAMN which are also favourite's of mine - thus no contest (Though Foxtrot/LLDOB are a VERY close second)

here's my order:

The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway
Selling England by the Pound
Foxtrot
Nursery Cryme
Genesis Live
Trespass
From Genesis to Revelation (sucks poop, only for novelty)

Question, is "And the Word Was..." the same thing as "From Genesis to Revelation"? Cuz I have "and the word was...". I knew it would suck, i just bought it cuz it was 2 bucks and a collector item.

For me its definately Foxtrot...by a long shot.

Selling England is good...but i think its somewhat overrated(within the prog world that is). I just cant ever see what the big deal about "Cinema Show" is. The album also brims with filler IMO.

something pretentious

The 70-74 albums by Genesis are all great Masterpieces, but THE LAMB is the greatest one! (IMO).

  Agree.

Yes, it is "From Genesis to Revelation" plus 4 bonus tracks (their 1968 Decca singles with the B sides). I think it was released on CD in 1987 by Decca, and it was the last time that Decca had the rights to release that album. I like their first album.

My favourite Gabriel Era-Genesis album is "Foxtrot".
