There are many latin american albums that deserves more attention here, despite the good rating of some of them:
- Los Jaivas - Los Jaivas (also known as El Indio) - Los Jaivas - Obras de Violeta Parra - Nexus - Metanoia - Invisible - Durazno sangrando - Kharmina Buranna - El arte de seguir vivos - Kharmina Buranna - Seres humanos - Cazuela de Cóndor - Pasión, pánico, locura y muerte - Elfonía - Elfonía - Jaime Rosas - Creciendo - Matraz - Tiempo Give it a try!! Prog on! |

Opeth - Morningrise
Yes, its rough production and raw songs, but its an underrated gem (if you like extreme prog) |

Syd Barrett "The Madcap Laughs" and "Barrett."
People were stumbling onto a lot of this stuff over the next 20 years, maybe without hearing this album but maybe sensing it in the culture somehow. I'm not saying at times it's not disturbing. One can put together one good prog album out of taking various tracks as some tracks are just kind of guitar strumming. For those proggier tracks, sometimes listen to just one channel at a time. Baby Lemonade is interesting in that way.

I would like to ADD:
Beardfish - The Void Eloy - Inside Kaipa post-70s - All their post-70s albums are rated lower than they should be. I love the group. Kansas First album and Song For America I like better than Leftoverture and Point Of Know Return (they are not underrated though since they are rated high on PA) Mostly Autumn - I love the group and many albums are rated lower than they should be. Especially the two most recent albums. Peter Hammill - I can crank up the rating on quite a few of his albums. Spock's Beard - Brief Nocturnes and Dreamless Sleep (This may be their best album. It is excellent, but people will not like it as much as the Neal Morse Era) I will definitely second these albums that were already mentioned: Rush - Caress Of Steel Eloy - Colours Pink Floyd - The Final Cut King Crimson - Lizard; In The Wake Of Poseidon Jethro Tull - Stand Up; This Was King Crimson - The ConstruKction of Light Riverside - Shrine of New Generation Slaves Gentle Giant - Free Hand Yes - Drama |

Fly from here - yes
As a prog related album, I think agents of fortune (blue oyster cult) is much underrated by P.A... |

Uh, my favorite album, duh.
But seriously, I think Ommadawn should have been at least recognized as much as Tubular Bells. And why doesn't anyone ever talk about Hergest Ridge? What's up with that?

I meant more in general, not on PA. Definitely, on PA Ommadawn is one of the highest rated albums and is rated higher than Tubular Bells. But outside of that, you usually only hear people talk about Tubular Bells and Moonlight Shadow (not even anything else from Crises). Not complaining about the popularity of Tubular Bells; I think it's well deserved; I just think it's weird that after becoming so popular for that that his other albums got such little attention in comparison.

Do you mean "Time and A Word" By Yes? If so, I agree that it is a bit underrated, as well as Drama and Magnification.

Are you kidding....no contest the album is Floyd's animals... I've seen them a couple of times and they play absolutely nothing from it....it falls between The Wall and Wish you were here... so it's in the middle of the "peak period" of one of the most influential and successful bands of all time...and yet NADA

I was about to post that Those songs have aged really well in my opinion. While they certainly aren't that proggy you still gotta love them. |

I am tired of Renaissance’s “Azure D’Or” getting dumped on. Sure, it has shorter songs and lacks the orchestral arrangements, but damn, it still has some of their stronger compositions IMO. Jekyll and Hyde, The Flood at Lyons, The Discovery always give me chills.
