Picked up Castlevania: SOTN on XBA this morning.  It was $3.39 and I had never played it back in the PS1 days.

It's here!

By the way, if anyone could explain the appeal of Train Simulator that'd be great because I have not the slightest clue why anyone would find that appealing, let alone drop thousands of dollars on it.

Really? The combat looks absolutely dreadful in the beta trailer, which is an accomplishment compared to the barebones stuff of Terraria. Then again, after 130 hours of Terraria, I don't know that I'd really be that interested in starting over anyway.

Been working on Deadlight lately, which isn't so hot thus far, and more FFXIV, which is another damnable life-sucking MMO.

Well, according to Steam, I must have spent 53 hours on The Witcher this week. It's OK, but very similar to WoW. The plot tree was finely crafted; otherwise the killing and questing makes the gameplay experience boring and monotonous.

And a fairly big Steam sale encouraged me to buy The Stanley Parable and Cave Story+ for $13 for the two.  Now, I have to play all of these games that I've been buying.LOL

I played the original freeware Cave Story, and it is wondrous. I cannot imagine not enjoying Cave Story +.

Last 2 completions: Papers Please and Deadlight.

Papers Please is really strange. It's a simple rule-matching game where following the rules makes you an a****le working for an a****le organization, and not following the rules can have explosive effects. I'm not totally sure I really bought the story, but the act of being Officer Hardass was unique.

Deadlight is a 2D platformer with 3D graphics and pretty much all-around sucked. Not recommended.

So, between my birthday (Dec. 22nd) and Christmas, I got Metal Gear Solid The Legacy Collection (PS3), Assassin's Creed IV (360) and Borderlands 2: GOTY (360).  I think I'll be busy for awhile.

I just picked up an ultra wide monitor (this one here), and I am having an absolute BLAST playing borderlands 2 and BF4 on a 2560x1080 screen!  :D

These Steam and XBox Gold sales are going to break me AND my wallet (and take all my time).  Yesterday, I got SSX for the 360 for $5 and just bought the Alan Wake collection on Steam for $4.  You really can't go wrong with so many awesome games for that cheap.
