That's not ironic, if you type search shoes you get shoes, if you search tits you get tits, that's Google doing what it is supposed to do. Using Google image search for "Great Pair of Tits" this was the first image:
(In the interests of balance and fairness I should point out that other great tits are available)
That's not ironic, that's google doing what google does.
This is ironic: If you search for lingerie and visit the commercial sites that sell such items of female apparel then Google AdSense will pick up on this and will start targetting lingerie adverts at you. Edited by Dean - October 12 2013 at 02:59 |

Oh well. This situation did insire a new avatar. Personally I think it would have been better for the site to use it instead of blurred/censored images too, as it would tell all visitors just why the real artwork can't be presented. Without people wrongfully getting annoyed at presumed internal site issues.

Can we drag this back from decrying the blurring of Roxy Music, Google's double-standards and the vandalism of works of art for a minute to discuss the album cover that sparked this all off:
Now some of you will see that RYM image and others will not as RYM have blocked it for them. RYM also uses Google Adsense to pay for its upkeep.
Max is working on a solution that will work the same way here, but this will take time to implement and get right. Fuzzy images are a stop-gap.
Some of you may have noticed that Max has disabled Google Ads from the forum pages and avatars from review-pages. This is not licence for the more

Whichever way one approaches this deal, it seems the main issue is that this automatic process have no way of seeing a picture as a piece of art. There's no "grey area" - no room for Degas' beautiful Snow White nude? What I see in the Zorn cover art is something akin to the same sense of female frailty captured in an unorthodox pose - here captured in the strange angle that looks like it's aiming for the nose. I think it's quite beautiful tbh. Alright, I'm done now. Doesn't help anything.

That Zorn cover is exquisite and beautiful..,...and we have another cover *just like it* in Psych. I can't remember the album but it is modern psych band and they have a cover with a full length female frontal nude, also very artistic and beautiful.
Kudos to you guys for your efforts in the best resolution. You have our support in whatever you have to do. The anger some people feel is directed at the corporate schlocks who create the problem, not at the PA Admin team. |

Utterly ridiculous. That cover is far more innocent than, say, Bernini’s Saint Teresa.

In 1587, Pope Pius IX castrated several statues in the Vatican....But hey, it was 450 years ago, despite this fact, people still criticized the vandalism towards art (Including myself). I believed we had advanced a lot since then, but now Google takes us back in time to more uncivilized eras. It's a change, and the blackmailing is worst. Iván

Without noticing this before, I've opened another thread.
In a statement sent to CNET, a Google representative explained, "We are not censoring any adult content, and want to show users exactly what they are looking for - but we aim not to show sexually explicit results unless a user is specifically searching for them. Does porn-prog exist?

That's some doublespeak if I've ever heard it, they "aren't censoring any adult content" unless it is not categorized as "adult content".
