Don't blame the passive component for the mistakes of the user, young one. You shouldn't stab yourself with a kitchen knife, you should cut yourself a nice slice of pie with it.

Sure, but that doesn't mean I wouldn't like to stop being stabbed with the knife. Everyone I know has had a terrible experience with it directly or indirectly.

I think that if you can use alcohol in a way that it does minimal damage to your health, you have fun, it doesn't make you hurt others, and it doesn't become an addiction and/or problem, then go ahead! But it seems to me like that's an extremely hard thing to accomplish

I don't see why it would be worth the risk.

Beer I guess I'm lucky that I love the taste of beer, wine and whiskey, but not so much the nauseating feeling of being even slightly drunk. So it's very easy to do it in moderation.

Those people also thought their activities could be blamed on the substance. They thought 'the more I drink, the less responsible I am for my actions' and that made them drink more than what they would normally enjoy. I think.

No, they just don't know when to stop or control their actions.

No, they just don't know when to stop or control their actions.
And yet, when they drink more they have to have some kind of stimulation. That they have no control does not necessarily mean that you have to drink, but they still do. The cause would then probably be the urge to be more drunk and less considerate or because it looks 'cool'.

I do feel sorry for you. Unhappy I grew up in a very sensible home concerning alcohol, but my godfather used to be a pretty hardcore alcoholic, who spent a lot of time in hospital because of it before sobering up a few years ago. At one point his own son, my cousin, actually emptied his bank account and disappeared to indulge in his own excesses and I don't think anybody's heard from him since.

Then they drink with the urge to get more drunk.
