That would depend on the quality of the second album, wouldn't it?

Anyway, I've done my part. Hope the second album will be at least close to as great as the first one.

Well, this kickstarter campaign is into it's final 10 hours now. Still enough time to support the project if you've thought about it but just never got around to doing it yet.

Refreshing to see such humility.  Smile

I introduced my wife to iamthemorning recently and she has become a huge fan.  She keeps giving me updates on the Kickstarter every morning over breakfast.

Project Update #10: In case you are curious..

Posted by Marcel van LimbeekLike

Dear people!

Just a tiny note.

We've just reurned to Russia and decided to make a proper video blog and answer some questions about music, about out country and everything that surrounds us and going on within the band and of course about second album, so if you'd like to ask us about something - please do!

Please leave your questions here

Love, Marjana

The noise I made when I saw this was rather immense.

This, along with opening for Riverside in a few months, and also Danny from Anathema has allegedly become a fan, it appears our favourite underground band maybe on the way up.

Great idea! You should maybe put your music on YouTube if you're not against the idea, would love to see the whole debut album on there if possible

Alright, so check this out:

Project Update #11: Some news that you gonna like!

Posted by Marcel van Limbeek Like

Our wonderful friends and supporters,

We've got several news for you and you gonna like them.

First of all, i want to apologize for not making updates more often, we are back in Russia to our day-jobs and Conservatory lessons, and at the same time there are still a lot of work on the album remained and we are making a music video, all of this at the same time.

So, some nice news:

1. in October, we are going to release our first single from the upcoming album, a song called "A Simple Story". You backers from Kickstarter will definitely get it the day before the release as a sign of our appreciation.

2. along with the single, a music video will be released.

3. and something about the album (and we are extremely excited about this): we are so unbelievably lucky to have Gavin Harrison from Porcupine Tree as a guest drummer on this record. this is a great happiness and honor for us and we are happy to make this announcement finally.

So, we've spent all this time doing a lot of useful things and you won't be disappointed with the album that we are going to release thanks to all of you.

Lots of love from cold and restless Russia

Marjana

Wohw ... they have Gavin on board! ... Did I know this? ... No.

Dear Friend, worry not about the genre delineation .. generous vagueness is habitual 'round here .. e.g. PA lists - and rates very highly - So What by Miles Davis, which is as far from Progressive Rock as St. Petersburg is from Jerusalem.

Funny you should mention Änglagård in this context, because I classify them (and you all) as contemporary classical.

Hello guys,

Sorry for this off-topic, i am just here because i've been thinking of posting this band to PA for months and still can't do that because i can't find words or don't have time. So i'll just leave it here in case anyone else likes it as i do. This is one of my favorites, though they stopped playing in 2004 and only have a couple of LPs.

The name of the band in the Grand Silent System and no one knows anything about them, but they are beautiful. Please check them out. There are not a lot of videos on youtube and i have no idea where to find their CDs - i bought them five years ago. But here's itunes.

I am just writing this because i love them and would love to share this with people who will understand.

love,
Marjana

Okies. The Grand Silent System was an Australian band, formed in 1999 and disbanded in 2006. They released two full length albums: Gift or a Weapon (2002) and Everyone Lies Alone (2004). They have a presence on Facebook too.

290 likes is even less than iamthemorning has, that doesn't count for presence :)

i didn't find them on PA though they are relevant so i thought i can at least make a post here. doing strange things is my habit)

Hey, I know the Grand Silent System!

But I guess that's just because I'm on this side of the globe and we hear about this stuff a bit more.
