Giants sign the former Penn Stater Dan Connor. Funny I wanted him years ago! He's a solid LB and we sure as hell need one but hes quite injury prone. Yeah that's nutty with dumervil, shame we have  like no $$$ or we could dump that bum osi for doomervil : D

I also think think the NFL sucks as it currently sits.  I knock Phil Collins because I don't care for his music or the music of Genesis (Nursery Cryme being the lone exception).

Genesis is pretty good, unlike the Jets who seem to be entering another circus of a season : D

Wes Welker to the Broncos. Hm, well let's see how he does in a different system!
Still very short pass granted but this is Peyton we're talking about and not Tom

G-Men sign TE Meyer (from the raiders).

Classic G Men, lots of little moves. They generally work out great but we're all in suspense over the Cruz issue!
I heard from Mike Francessa that it's been very very rare for restricted free agents to be picked up. So it seems unlikely he'll leave the Giants but really hope they just get that thing settled.

I'll call this favorable because he was decent at the end of the year on abysmal team. Put him on a good team and perhaps he'll blossom. And we need a tight end so...

Yeah. I've heard no nibbles yet on Cruz. I think once the first few days on FA passed it was probably unlikely. Though, when Wes went to the broncos I was afraid the Pats might start sniffing around.

Cruz to the Pats, oh god!
Though he'd no longer be a deep threat at least, since past 10 yards for Brady = only for hail marys LOL

Yeah I know the name so he must be solid at least...and we have like no TEs...who the hell do we even have??

Thank god for restricted tags and Amendola.

And at TE? I don't know. Is Pascoe a TE? He still may be there. At least, I haven't heard he was released.

Victor Cruz offered, reportedly, $30 mill over 4 years.
12 mill guaranteed.
Now, obviously the fan in me/person who makes a crap living would jump head first into $7.5 million a year/a guaranteed 12 million bucks.
But he feels different, at least as of now he's refused.

On one hand, in terms of pure skill I think he's a top 5 receiver. Deep threat supreme, great route running, good hands, can make crazy things happen in space. Guess it's natural for him to hold out for more but no one is offering more/giving up a first rounder. Cmon Victor....$7+ mill beats $500k big time!

Refused?!

Jesus. Has he said what he wants? Because that seems pretty good to me.

I've not heard any numbers from the Cruz camp, not even a crazy possible maybe rumor. And I listen to both the morning show with Boomer & Carton and the afternoon block with Francessa so I dont miss sh*t!

Agreed. At first I thought: Great deal but it is a tad low considering his skill set, but thinking about he IS an undrafted player, with only 2 years experience, and possible injury risk/not very physical.
And while he can be a "normal" receiver he's best at just running 20 yards+ deep and getting open, and Eli rarely misses him, not many teams can work like that.

Edit: Considering the horrible skid they hit in '12 I'd also question if even the Giants can work like thatLOL

O Linemen David Diehl has taken a pay cut to stay on the Giants. Reportedly from $4 some mill this year to just 1.
Nooooooooooooo this means he'll still be here!  :(

I'm sorry to hear you put yourself through that.

As for the rest...agreed. Certainly better than the comparative peanuts he was making last year. He is certainly a big part of the offense, but still...the nfl as a whole doesn't seem to value slot receives all that high...hopefully he will reconsider and just accept the damn thing.

And the giants will continue to be the enigma we both love and hate.

That is sad news.

Though it's better than Webster whose still taking like 3 mil to let receivers run wide open. But nevertheless...don't the giants watch tape...sigh.

Hopefully it's the last year of his contract and next year will be the one.

Further news from the giants camp...

Blackburn signed with the Panthers and Osi has sign with the Falcons. Osi's news is by no means a surprise but I didn't expect Blackburn to go anywhere.

Yeah, they signed David Akers to replace him.  I just hope the David Akers of Philly was signed and not the Niners version.  Could be seeing the Lions going for it on 4th down a lot this season.
