It seems to me that most proggers have pretty eclectic tastes.  It is pretty difficult to find a band that nobody else here likes.

Anyway Ramones and Cramps.  Especially the Cramps as they are pretty basic and look pretty firmly back to the 50s and pre prog times

Norah Jones' Little Broken Hearts is one of my favorite albums of last year, and her prior album, The Fall, was quite good as well. Even her huge selling debut rings pretty good to my ears, although her second and third albums I find boring. Overall though, I'm pretty much a fan at this point...which is something I never would have said a half a decade ago.

I also loved M.I.A. since her first release came out in 2005. Big fan of hers.

Coldpaly, Leonard Cohen, AC/DC, John Lee Hooker, most of those don't seem to get too positive response

Gloria Estefan / Miami Sound Machine. Beat that.  I still haven't gotten the nerve to buy a CD yet though.

The Bee Gees disco-era (I finally did buy that one)

I'd say most prog fans (not ALL, mind you) hate hardcore punk, but that's what I grew up on: Black Flag, Descendents, Minor Threat, DRI, Saccharine Trust, Naked Raygun, Effigies,Minutemen etc.  Also some of the British greats like Crass, Conflict, and Subhumans

^ Well, if prog fans do diss the Gees, then take this: I enjoy The Bee Gees material from the early Aussie releases to the 70's disco era (especially the unjustly forgotten former stuff - they were just boys, love their stuff). I haven't done any listening to their Eighties-and-onward material, though I think I really should. In other news, I like The Carpenters' saccharine pop covers (can't stand their X-mas crap, though). Also, I'm not sure how other prog fans feel about French schlager but I do really enjoy Serge Lama's songs. And go ahead and make some qualms about Andrea Boccelli. I guess Colin Blunstone could also count as a saccharine pop solo artist.

Country is one of the most hated genre because everyone just bandwagons and can't form their own opinions.

No, I genuinely hate it LOL

Of all the music I like, the one I imagine would be the least popular in PA would be techno (German techno, early Detroit & Chicago house, British drum & bass and jungle).

System of a Down, Lana Del Rey, Arcade Fire, Coldplay (btw Viva la Vida is a prog album, sorry Wink), U2 (experimental/ art rock phase),  and many others... Also, I'm very into extreme metal, particularly death and folk metal. Many prog fans seem to dislike metal, for some reason...
