I barely listen to music that's not prog nowadays, but I'm still kinda open-minded to music. There's only 2 genres which I can't enjoy at all and those are: Swing Jazz and Hair Metal aka Glam. I love Jazz in general, and I even play in a jazz band myself, but I just can't enjoy Swing at all, there is just something about it that makes me so put-off. And Glam metal has to be the most boring genre ever, every single band sounds the same and while the guitar players can show-off with crazy techiques during their solos, they only play 3 power-chords during the verses. Gentle Giant could learn them a trick or two.

Were they actually a band? I always assumed they were more of a rumor, just together long enough to make a depraved video or two and then back to their lives at their parents' middleclass Malibu homes and parking cars for septuagenarian functions on weekends.

I am sure most prog fans would hate The Arctic Monkeys but I am right into them. Their last album was on the nose but their first 3 albums were, IMHO, excellent.
Just a few bigger names in Black Metal and Hip-Hop that I really enjoy. I wouldn't say these genres are hated by prog fans though, not even close. But I'm sure that it's not the average progger's cup of tea,
