[Poll] Eno's 1970s Oeuvre

... and those aren't even all the works that Eno was involved with in the 1970s... What a busy decade! (I didn't put those albums where he contributed to one song, such as Genesis' THE LAMB LIES DOWN ON BROADWAY.)

Most of these he played on, some he "merely" produced - and some he did both (such as the albums by Nico, Cale, and the Talking Heads).

While his 70s work was amazing (and my favorite Eno period), it continued well into the 80s (APOLLO: SOUNDTRACKS, AMBIENT 4: ON LAND, MY LIFE IN THE BUSH OF GHOSTS), as well as amazing production work with the Talking Heads (REMAIN IN LIGHT) and U2 (THE UNFORGETTABLE FIRE, THE JOSHUA TREE, ACHTUNG BABY)...

I love so many of these albums, but I have to go with ANOTHER GREEN WORLD. :-) A close second wold be Bowie's LOW; a close third would be a tie between TAKING TIGER MOUNTAIN and HERE COME THE WARM JETS.

I have a mix where I took the instrumentals from LOW and HEROES to make one of the great (imaginary) instrumental albums of all time! :-)

Funny you should mention that, because I was thinking the exact same thing just last week, when I had a full blown Iggy/Stooges overdose. Although I must confess that I adore the trash can like production of both those albums. Eno could and probably would've done unspeakable things to a track like Dum Dum Boys. One of my absolute fave Iggy solo songs.

My favorite has always been Before and After Science, although Low is awfully close and all of Eno's vocal albums are five stars for me.

Tough call, lots of choices here, but ended up voting for Another Green World.  I think of it as a benchmark of sorts for a whole area of music that this album seemed to invent.  It's just a beautiful album all the way through.

I'd say I'm a fan of pretty much every album on this list though, to some degree.

The Bogus Man, and indeed all of For Your Pleasure, is, as you say, monumental. In Every Dream Home a Heartache gives me chills every time, and I think the title track in underappreciated as well.

Devo, the Bowie albums and the Talking Heads albums are all close.  Since I feel like no one else will vote for Devo, I will.
