JS...they are allowed to dish it out.  Call you ignorant, call you despicable, and so forth.  But you're not allowed to argue back.  Wink
I can understand your anger at me, but what did the horse I rode in on ever do to you?

Slarti is the most hateful person I've ever met, online or otherwise. His hate is just disguised as care for the poor. His hate thus fools people into believing he is reacting like a crusader for justice. Nothing more. I'll try to ignore him thusa saving the forum from these ugly discussions. He knows how to make people react though, ultra-politicized person he is.

Funny, I don't agree with Slarti on everything he says, but he seems a perfectly nice individual to me.

Sad person full of hate and ignorance you are. I come from a third world country and make less than 25000 a year yes I'm so rich. You have no idea about my background yet you are the first to make prejudgements about people. Poor prejudiced man. You deserve pity.

25,000 eh, maybe if you worked harder you would make more money, that's my advice, you need to work harder.
I just answered you below. But I'm starting to see you are another Slarti.

I'm just pointing out that your "poverty credentials" are pure bullsh*t. I really do think you could make more money than that if you put some effort into it.
Why you choose to trump up some picture of poverty for yourself is beyond me, I would never brag about being poor whether I was or not.

The Doc, I used to think the same. But he calls everyone that disagrees with him "spoiled little rich kid" without knowing sh*t about backgrounds of people. Then he continues to say many other things on the last pages that left me baffled.

I have learnt to disagree with you respectfully Doc (at least I think so). Why can't he?

Yeah, I'm a number. I'll live and die in (relative) poverty-stricken obscurity. I'm okay with that. I won't be famous and I won't make money. I won't have contributed anything of intrinsic value to the human race and history shall condemn me to non-memory. I prefer it that way.

As long as I get the chance to create some of the things and work on some of the ideas beating out of my skull while I'm alive, I'll be alright with it. Money won't make me live forever. It may make the trip I'm taking easier (sure it could), but I don't want to cheat it. I know I'd be singing a different tune if I lost my home or if I was being tortured - but that's okay, too. We all spew useless bullsh*t that never helps and we pontificate on any number of subjects and then we die. I understand how much of a big Kafkaesque construct it is, human life. No sense in me preaching any point. I'm not fatalist or nihilist or any of that. I want to do what my mind lusts for me to do within my own (self-constructed) ethical basis and it'll only make an impact like a butterfly-effect type impact.

I don't agree or disagree with most of what Slarti posts, but he does some a bit more acerbic and, err, provocative this fine evening.

Someone calls me spoiled little rich kid without knowing my background. I make less than he does. I work retail. I have improved a lot in life since I learned responsibility and hard work (some people start later than others). That is all.

I wouldn't brag abot being rich or poor by the way. If someone uses my supposed social status against me, based on pure prejudice, I think it makes sense to point it out.

Teo, to someone who has been called ignorant, despicable and other such things in the past few days (which funny enough, neither you nor anyone of the libertarian clique had a problem with, although they did have a problem with me talking back), "spoiled little rich kid" seems rather tame.

What exactly are "poverty credentials?"  Can someone point me to a list?  Because we've been f**king poor in our time.

But if I've been kidding myself that raising a family of four on $25 a week for food, being robbed the same year,
and pawning my instruments to pay the utility bill is doing swell, let me know.  Stern Smile

Ask Theodore, apparently involves a "third world" upbringing and a retail job, maybe there is more .

I'll give you this: you defended yourself and you were entitled to it. I don't think the "ignorant" thing was meant as an offense but I can see your point.

Sorry, Theodore is the expert on that, I've worked my ass off to achieve lower middle class and I am proud of it.

^I'm doing the same Easy Money. And it is working, far better than complaining or waiting for the government-Messiah.

It's Teodoro if you want to use my full name by the way.

Someone said "your poverty credentials are bullsh*t."

I want to know what these credentials are.  John?

Either you have the list of credentials, or your comment was bullsh*t.  Which was it?  Smile

I do wish people would stop saying "well I'm poorer than you!" It merely plays into the (false) idea that being poor gives you some kind of unique powers of empathy or wisdom.

I agree about the pissing match reference, but I would disagree about the wisdom comment.
