I noticed that there seems to be a lot of right-wing prog fans out there (must be due to Rush's Ayn Rand worship). This kind sucks for me because i've always been a fan of Karl Marx, Engels and the struggle of the working class to abolish itself. Robert Wyatt from the Soft Machine and Matching Mole is still an avowed communist to this day which makes me hopeful that i'm not the only communist prog fan out there.

I'd love to make a long rant about how I hate communism and believe that it's an infringement on people's rights, but I don't have time.

I despise communism and its soft variants but I wouldn't have a problem with a communist-prog subgenre.

What are the soft-variants of communism?

I do believe in a form of redistribution. I believe in a simple tax system where everyone is taxed the same percent of their income, no matter how rich or poor, no other taxes necessary. However I think it would be wonderful if some of that tax money were given to the poor.

It looks good on paper and would probably work if not for humans' general stupidity, greed, sloth and shortsightedness. It has a lot of potential but has been used as the means to the same end as every other system in history. It ultimately leads to Totalitarianism to be sure the "even" redistribution of wealth does not apply to the ruling class.

What do you think of cultural marxism (cultural communism)? It's pretty prevalent these days.

The only time I ever hear that term is from sabre rattling radicals. It is a purely inflammatory pseudo-ideology drummed up by a handful of people who hate the fact that they will never be able to convert everyone to their way of thinking. The fact that people of different races, nationalities, religions, political orientation, gender identification and so-on can work side by side really pisses some people off.

I agree with you. I'm what you call a third cultural kid and I think people can most definitely live side by side peacefully. The problem is that there are power hungry elites who utilize the tribal nature within most of us to prevent that from happening.

im so called socialist, but no im more light pink then red to be honest, but im not really a social democrat, more a liberal socialist, if anything, if you had pointed a gun to my head, i whould say i was that, liberal-socialist.

Some Swedish prog is left wing and some Norwegian 70s prog is so also, socialist prog or comunist prog, but there is also agrarianist prog, and liberal prog and also conercvative prog, and non-confirmative prog

I usually let music do musical stuff rather than look for politics in it.

I don't have too much of a problem with anarcho-communism (well, I do, but I wouldn't really want to prevent it if.)

I'm for it as long as I get to be a high ranking Party official, with the nice cars and dachas and so forth.

Yeah, having your own dacha would be sweet, wouldn't it? I could get on board for that.
