Sorry for not hyperlinking it, chrome has been weird.
Pertaining to that song, i'm not too keen on emo i suppose. Not a fan of the vocals really. Not bad though, just not me. Drums were of course great.

I've heard a fair amount of Deep Purple before, but they didn't do much for me.

Zeppelin were the first heavy band I got into as an adolescent. I think it was right after Bonham died, actually. They were part of a very key point in my musical life. Prior to that it was Beatles and pop music. And maybe some Camel. I never really got into Deep Purple in the same way, though I have most of their albums and enjoy them. Just didn't hit me the same way. It's different for everybody really.

If you dislike this, then there's no point in liking more Classic Rock.

Child in Time is the shiz.
I think my very favorite Deep Purple song is "Demon's Eye", though "Highway Star" is close.

Fireball, Deep Purple, Made in Japan/In Rock, Talisman, Who Do We Think We Are - mmmm all amazing.
Whenever i listen to Child in Time (a lot) i lip sync the vocals and get really into it!
It's up there with Won't Get Fooled Again for the Rock Anthem title. Can't decide between the two sometimes.

Yeah, I'm a singer and even I don't attempt to actually sing along with Ian on that song. I'd probably end up crashing the car.

The song Mainstreet by Helmut Koellen could have been one of those big Rock Anthems, it's really catchy and infectious, but Koellen died before it was released. Real tragedy, as it could have been a big one.
