The first paragraph is blatantly promoting illegal downloading. |

" This review is intended most for the ones who like Pink Floyd and still own their albums. If you are an alien an don't know the band or WYWH I recommend you to buy the standard version of the album." I don't see any promotion of illegal downloads in this sentence.

Surely it isn't the first paragraph which is meant.
The review mentions pretty popular PF bootlegs. The mere mentioning of the existence of such recordings might inform people that they exist, but doesn't promote anything at all. The unlicensed tape recording of a concert is, of course, not completely legal. But in many countries the legal status of exchanging these recordings at no charge is unclear. Mentioning their names is legitimate, without doubt! Edited by Einsetumadur - November 18 2012 at 16:30 |

It appears to have been edited. Whether by the reviewer himself or the admin team, I dunno. But the first paragraph was originally longer and told people to find and download the bootlegs.

Moreover, it did not have, as I mentioned, the two last songs: Best of Times and Count of Tuscany; the former has an obvious Rush twist to it and the second sounds very much like the "traditional" Dream Theater. The first time I did it was more detailed because I could get my hands on the leak, but it eventually disappeared as the album became available.

"Again, DT's gothier than before, with mean attitude. Let's put the word mean between quotes, because the band is as scary as fathers at the mall just out of Buffalo Jeans. When Octavarium got out, I was surprised how this modern-tech-goth edge suited well DT, but this is many steps towards ridicule: Church-Dracula organ, Metallica references by the dozen, pseudo-rapping and yes, the final step...growling." Oh great review, Yes! More opinionated than informed isn't it?

Sorry to be the one to notice agin but Aargh!!!!
2 bands are getting very annoying. 1. ANGLAGARD, GREAT band, so I don't know why it's happening but the stream of people signing up, Five-ing them and slapping any old rating on others, is maybe getting worse. The two that I just noticed are http://www.progarchives.com/Collaborators.asp?id=43538 and http://www.progarchives.com/Collaborators.asp?id=38575 . Someone else told but I looked and saw more of them there too. Why would such a good band want that? 2. http://www.progarchives.com/artist.asp?id=7304 Ocean Architecture, Not so great(I listened) but the number of fans and family (SBD is clearly family. https://www.facebook.com/sam.dorsey.5 for instance) that go and review them with a 5 and for good measure slap ratings on a whole load of others is getting very annoying. I want our fans to review us but few will bother. What I will NEVER want anyone to do is insult the integrity of PA by adding all those other meaningless ratings on others while they are there. I hope these can be repaired. Apart from that, It is snowing. Yes!!! I love snow. Colin |

I gather there are bands out there who live off paid family members writing reviews for PA. Sad way to spend your life, and kind of funny in a way that I suspect only is funny to me because of the copious amounts of alcohol hoovered up last night.....

Ha ha. Yes Guld. I am certain of it. Those would be harder to spot tho'. Even the ones that sign up in advance of album releases, to hide what they are doing are usually easy to see. I guess the real world will always mess up a good thing somehow. You drink in denmark? Oh wow. We would not agree with such behaviour here in sweden! |

I know hahah!!! The Swedes come here to get pissed!
As for the whole rating scheming, I find it less than sympathetic, but fortunately we've got folks around, like yourself, that politely point our heads towards these buggers. I hope others who come across this thread pick up a thing or two - and hopefully will see these acts/raters for what they are. |

Italy again?
Has anyone any idea what they are doing? I like Italy. Thanks again Dean. I see that ninestonesclose are pleased with all your work. Yes the other band. Hmmm. SBD didn't make me smile at all. I have guessed one thing. They hit the ones that had recent reviews. Every time we get one from a collaborator, a new rating appears from someone like SBD. Now I am scared to get a review! Colin |

It's because of the crisis. With all the unemployment around here there's a lot of people with a lot of time to waste I suppose.

The collab review to rating weighting will smooth-out any retaliation effect from lone raters like SBD. It's when they open multiple accounts to flood the ratings it causes any problems.

SBD is my mother. Kinda embarrassing for me actually...but not within my control. I'll ask her to remove any hurtful ratings.
